Georgia has had good recruits before, this is the first time it's this good but Richt was averaging the #8 recruiting class every single year.

Let me get this straight.

During the season, you said Kirby was winning because he had Richt's recruits. Now that he has pulled in the #3 and #1 classes, you are saying it takes more than recruits, it takes coaching. So last season, did we win because of recruits, or was it because of coaching?

Because if it was because recruits, we are now getting better ones. If it was because of coaching, then imagine what Kirby will do with these better recruits!

Yeah. So? I am comparing Mizzou to their own futility, and finding it ironic for a Mizzou fan to be talking bad about Georgia.

Exactly . How dare a lowly Mizzou fan or anyone else speak out about the mighty Georgia Bulldogs and their mighty fans. They are now superior to all fans in college football. They are not braggadocious, arrogant, or condescending at all, for they are mighty Georgia fans !

That's why we fired richt. We weren't content with that.

Did 2017 prove Kirby has the acumen you speak of? It wasn't just about the recruits as you point out, so the answer has to be yes.

Crap. You can speak out about anybody, I don't care. just don't expect to do it and us to sit here on our hands. I mean, if we defend our team against Auburn, Florida and now Missouri attacks we think we are all high and mighty?

We didn't start this thread. If you don't like the new Georgia posters...okay. But attack them and not our school!

Coaching.

Because Georgia played very few decent teams last year.

Just for reference, Muschamp played 7 ranked teams in 2012. Four of those teams finished in the top 12.

Fast forward to Georgia: In the regular season you guys played 3 teams that ended the season ranked -- got the frick beaten out of you in one, won by a point against the other and beat a vastly overwhelmed MSU.

You faced zero ranked teams in the East. Zero. Not a single peer from your division ended the year ranked, and not a single team had more than 9 wins. (In 2012 there were three teams with more than 9)

Georgia's defense got exposed twice in spite of having not only talent, but a plethora of experience. 9 players total left the Georgia defense, but that didn't stop teams from getting 488, 527 and a Freshman from ganking 325 yards in one half.

You had the stars, you had the experience, you had everything you needed but several coaches completely exploited and dominated your defense.

On offense, it doesn't take much coaching to run the ball up the middle because you have the best rushing tandem college football has ever known.

2018 will tell us if Kirby is a flash in the pan, and if he can actually turn those players into superstars like your Saban and Meyer. Recruiting is half the battle and it was won before he arrived -- not many coaches stumble into ten win teams over the past five years on average with top ten recruiting classes.

However, if he actually shows that he can learn, adapt and get an offensive gameplan that isn't so vanilla, he will probably end up being one of the best coaches of all time and a real threat to worry about.

But, when all you have to do is walk through an East with no ranked teams, go 1 - 1 in the West for the regular season and play one real out of conference game with an upperclassman laden team it's not really a thing of incredible capacity more than dumb luck.

Funny how when you ask these type questions he loses interest in the thread.

When you play 3 real games the entire season, getting to the Playoffs is made a lot easier. And even those ''real'' games, ND got flat out embarrassed by Miami (guess who's their coach) and Stanford, two other teams playing for their conferences.

Maybe learn to read?

He clearly didn't read when I said regular season.

Going 2 - 1 in big games, or against legit talent isn't exactly something incredible for a regular season. Literally not a single East team ranked outside of Georgia.

So what you didn't want to say is that uga 2017 played 6 ranked teams and uf 2012 played 7?

What a huge difference. 4 of our games finished in the top 10.

you conveniently fail to mention that we played the team again we got whooped by and then beat the shite out of them. We also played the Heisman winner leading the #2 team in america and beat them as well

true, but in years past we would make those games uncomfortably close into the 2nd half. We beat UT by 41 in knoxville. We were up 42-0 on UF, also away from home. We coasted to easy if unremarkable wins over Miz and SC, and demolished UK and VU.

Why would he do that when he can just up and smash the other team to bits with bigger and faster players, and then hit them with play action when they're ready to break?

Only sort of kidding.
