Auburn fans trying to pretend they're a great basketball fanbase is pretty hilarious.

Auburn had 5,000+ fans last year at Vandy’s arena.

I just paid $250 this morning for tickets to watch AU play in Oxford because it’s a steal compared to what I’m having to pay to watch us play in Auburn.

For a Saturday SEC game, you have to pay $200/person minimum for a seat in AU arena.

Not many. By the time someone comes home from Birmingham after a 830 game it'll be after 11pm. Nobody is doing that on a working weekday.

My Bama buddy and his son did it last night… and they do it for most every other weeknight game. The problem for Bama is they don’t have enough fans like him.

I drive down to Auburn for 8:00 pm tips on weeknights at least once a season… and that takes 2.5 hours more in driving than it would to Tuscaloosa.

People do it.

UAB is a better basketball school than Auburn

We had 10,725 in the building last night (turnstile, not tickets sold).

That's 120% of Auburn Arena capacity, meaning 1,600 people who attended the game last night would have alternatively been competing against each other for marked up tickets to get in the door (in addition to it being a full arena). Fast forward that to a normal SEC game in which the place is between 85%-100% full (12,250 - 14,500) and you can do the math on what ticket prices would look like with the normal attendance squeezes into a 10-11K seat arena (led alone 9.5K).

It's not a complicated equation to figure out. The arena is too big, has been for it's entire existence and was only built that way to host concerte and non-athletic university events.

Good for you... People have jobs. I'm not doing that shite even if I still lived in Huntsville. And now living in Eastern time I didn't even get to watch the game.

Basketball Arenas are better smaller. The two toughest places to play in CBK are Duke and Gonzaga (9,000 and 6,000 seats).

I wonder what Jay Williams would think about Auburn’s 9:00 pm weeknight crowd tonight. Check in tonight to see if you can see a difference.

I would be shocked if the fanbase who just had their souls ripped out and spit on in the most painful loss of their lives weren’t riled up and ready to go in a sport they’re actually good at.

Auburn is 7-2 against Tennessee in our last 9 meetings… beating 6 of the last 8 Tennessee teams. So which year was the fluke??

Bump to give kudos to Arkansas having a raucous 20K crowd with the same late start. Oh, but it’s Wednesday.

So an 8:30 pm basketball game on the Tuesday night after Thanksgiving and five days before the SEC football championship game in Atlanta, at a football school who plays basketball in a 1960’s aircraft hangar, had a poor turn out?

Arkansas has one of the best basketball fanbases in the country and was playing Duke.

This isn't even a half arse effort. Like quarter arse.

Arkansas is a basketball school.

How is LSU men’s basketball attendance looking?

It's late November in Alabama. Basketball is not a priority right now. He obviously doesn't follow football. So many teams get into the NCAAT that not many people outside of the bluebloods follow this shite until February.

I mean you can’t get 10,000 on a weeknight?
