Serious question. Do you think he would have still been fired had y’all won the Egg Bowl?

No. Too much emotion tied to that game, and his record would have been the same as last year.

The loss, but more so how the loss happened, is probably what pushed it over the edge.

Agreed. We shouldn’t have hired the ole miss guy to replace him. It was never going to work and we put a lot of people in sticky spots

Yeah. And I guess I’m looking at the situation based a lot on our game against y’all. I mean, after that first half, I think everyone expected that team to quit, but they didn’t. Luke (or somebody) had them guys ready to fight after the half and while I think our guys lost focus and that played a roll in the outcome, I respect a team that just won’t give up in those situations.

It was a very disgraceful way to lose a game. I mean, he had to know he was gonna get flagged for that shite. I get it being an emotional game and all, but you just can’t do that when you are in a game that is that close. I mean, it’s funny. And truth be told, if thekicker had made the extra point and y’all went in to win that game, we are still laughing about what he did, but instead, the jokes would be at States expense.

Yeah-but last year’s LSU-Ole Miss game was a total shite show. No dog piss situation, but stupid personal fouls everywhere. Totally undisciplined on the Ole Miss side of the ball.

That is true. I suppose that’s why the players really liked him. They had no accountability.

Probably. Too much friend and not enough coach. Not everyone has to be a Nick Saban, but the players at least have to respect the coach. I think Coach O is probably a good example of a likable guy who the players respect, and someone who demands respect.

You got to be impressed with O for what he’s done. And yeah, he may not be able to sustain it, Time will tell. But he’s come a long way since his Ole Miss days. He’s always been a good recruiter, but for him to acknowledge his weaknesses and find someone who can do what he can’t and let them do it. That’s impressive.

Not to mention finding Joe Burrow. I will always like Coach O if for nothing else than that alone.

It will be our luck that the same will happen with Luke.

Coach O has come a long way from full pad Friday’s to so far running the table this year. I’ll leave it at that because I don’t want to jinx y’all.

Thanks.

And I really do hope whoever y’all hire gets y’all where you want to be. It’s good for all of us when others SEC teams are strong.

True. It doesn’t help anyone’s ability to win in playoff situations when the SEC West is half-full of cupcakes.
