I'm not gonna get into throwing stones or anything like that, as no one knows.
The only thing I can't figure out, is what the benefit or even reason is for these players to be hanging out at the store just signing the shite out of all kinds of merchandise. They do it at Media Days, Spring Scrimmages, etc. that the University requires them to do. But what reason does a 21 year old AJ have for just wanting to hang out at a clothing store with a middle aged man signing shite and taking pictures?
Especially when they know the University caught shite before.

A LOT of difference in what Manziel allegedly did.
His personal assistant was ALLEGED to be selling Manziel's services signing memorabilia.
No such charges here. Take yer best shot Clay and when it is pointed out how many teams and players have stuff out there like this you'll have to go into witness protection.

Listen, I have not been to Clay's blog in the past year or two. So I have no idea what the "article" said

He has probably over 100 autographed items for sale. Most from former players, but many game worn autographed items from current players. It would make many reasonable people question how a dissociated booster gets so much access to current players and gets all these autographs.
Also, his public signings with former players makes it hard for any current player to claim they reasonably didn't know he was going to sell their items.
The reasonable person may also question what would prompt players to help this guy make so much money off of their name and achievements?
Like I said originally, it isn't a big deal to me, but the Alabama compliance staff can't be excited about this story.

This. But not really.
When the first batch of pictures came out, Saban didn't even know about Tom. A Cease and Desist letter was quickly rushed over there, and obviously everyone bought into the story that it had been sent months before. Did the NCAA even investigate or did they take bammer's word that they had it all taken care of. It would be nice if all other programs were allowed to do a 24-hour investigation and tell the NCAA to run along.
Also, the current players have to have heard something fishy (since Tom IS a disassociated booster) and have cleared it with the compliance department. If the compliance department knows and sent the letter of disassociation, why weren't the players told to stay away? Many unanswered questions.

This. How has this guy befriended so many football players, and why do they give a shite about going to his store to help him out?

first, who wants some gloves for 1200 bucks?
most importantly, that auburn site looks about as shady and bootleg as they come. They are selling one auburn white polo, large and it is sold. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!! Was this polo already worn? again, wtf. I would worry about identity theft with that site.
Ttown tom's site doesn't look much better to be honest, but it is worlds apart and at least you get Tom's rep behind it, which makes it more authentic i guess. (his pictures are on it and you know who he is so you know the items are more than likely authentic)

I care not one whit about Clay Travis and whether he lies or tells the truth. I do remember a picture though (which doesn't lie) of a current (at the time - Trent or Julio or somebody) Alabama player standing at a table signing a jersey. There were stacks of jerseys beside him and boxes of jerseys at his feet. Tom was standing there watching him. What is the difference between this and what Manziel was alleged to have done in the hotel room that garnered so much criticism.
There was a specific allegation made that Manziel received a cash payment for signing those autographs. Nothing serious came of the allegation but THAT was/is the difference in the two situations. No one has made a specific allegation about a specific cash payment or gift to any of the Alabama players in any of the pictures. I don't know why people keep missing this crucial bit of information.

Wasn't the person who ALLEGED this a bammer booster? Phillips, maybe? The one who was the runner funneling money to current players last year? So bammer is not okay with Manziel ALLEGEDLY selling autographs but refuse to question their own players ALLEGEDLY selling autographs. Maybe Clay Travis is a horn blower like Phillips.

This still isn't the important distinction because Albetar would basically take the place of the assistant in the JF situation. The key difference is that JFF was alleged to have received a specific dollar amount for signing the autographs. That specific allegation hasn't been made about any of the Alabama players yet.

Phillips, maybe?
I forgot about that motherfricker. Edited the Kristi Malzahn tape, broke the Manziel story, and then ended up being tied to the Fluker story. What a sleazy piece of shite.

As it is to me. Or as "the bagman" or Manziel stories were to me. I have to believe that Saban and the compliance department are doing everything they can to educate these kids. And I have no reason to doubt Saban due to his track record with the NCAA in his coaching stint.
And you have been fine in this thread, none of what I am saying is directed at you. From my end, and I can only speak for one Bama fan on this board, is this crap happens everywhere. Always has, always will, even if the players get paid, this stuff will still go on.

seriously, who designed these store websites? Leonard Pope?

You're okay with the fact that it seems your school is committing violations (using current players to endorse a business is an NCAA violation)?
My school hasnt done that.

I think the thing that bugs other fans is that the NCAA is not investigating a "potential" violation.
They have. Try and follow along now.

Yep, like he is giving a big frick you to somebody out there.
I went to the site you linked but didn't dig around, is there proof on the site that it is Uncle Tom's?

Yeah, I had to run an errand so didn't get to look long. It very well may be his. If it is, like I said, its a big FU to somebody.
When Clay actually visits T'town Menswear, or does some real digging, I will be interested. I have no reason to believe this will not turn out like the first time around. Clay is just desperate for some hits right now. Gotta keep those sponsors happy!

Looking at the pictures of the store, the jerseys are from Bama players already gone.
Now online, they are selling present players articles, which I think the University needs to check out.
Shitty online site. They spelled team as "teem", and misspelled Hart's name.
And on page 2, they have a Kirkpatrick jersey for $1.00.
& Trent Richardson "championchip" cleat for sale. Kept misspelling Julio Jones' name.
Page 6, you can get a 2011 National Champion "chips" "footbal" signed by Trent Richardson for $1.00.
