I have no doubt that Herschel Walker is an incredible athlete. However, I do believe that he is a bit prone to exaggerate his physical accomplishments.
He's said that he used to do more than a thousand pull-ups every day. I've done a thousand pull-ups in one day [kipping], and it took me more than two hours to complete. Combine that with the fact that he additionally said he did 1500 pushups and 3-4 thousand situps and 1000 dips, that level of PT would take you nearly four to five hours non-stop at least. It's certainly doable, but the amount of time commitment required is substantial.

I've pondered the same thing in my head, but never once said anything because where I live I am surrounded by die-hard dawgs. The guy does suffer from bi-polar disorder. Being full of shite isn't too far away from that.

one out of seven men never lose their testosterone level.
Maybe he is able to do it.
I would not bet on it though, based on watching the Indy combine year after year and most years only a few DBs and WRs do under 4.4 electronically on the artificial surface there, even ones who were supposedly running 4.3 in high school.
One thing about that. My college room mate ran a record 100 time in the 9th grade in a track meet. when he put weight on later, he was just an average runner.

Darrell Green was still running a 4.4 at age 40 with the Redskins, but he was in football shape. I'm not sure I beleive Herschel completely on this one.

I lost respect for Herschel after the documentary. What a damn whiner he is. He was the valedictorian, got a scholarship, won the Heisman, played in the NFL and all he could talk about was killing somebody because he was picked on as a kid. If those are his worst problems then I say he lived a better life than most.

Willie Gault, who continued to train in track, ran around a 4.3 hand timed IIRC around this age, but Walker has changed his training around and not continued to train for speed, which is why I am a bit skeptical.
In addition, the number of pushups and situps that Walker has said he did has varied throughout interviews to as high as five thousand. Now that I find a bit unbelievable.

I remember when Herschel was with the Cowboys and the joke among the Cowboy players was "HERSCHEL YOU ARE MAKING THOSE KIDS TEAR THEIR ROTAR CUFFS UP TELLING THEM ALL YOU DO IS PUSH UPS AND PULL UPS..The Cowboys players said he used to "HIT THE WEIGHTS"..And the story about "FLIPPING THE COIN" to see if it was "GEORGIA OR THE MARINES"..Back in the day it was "GEORGIA AND USC"..Herschel is trying to make a few bucks like everyone else these days..Doesn't mean he was the baddest running back I ever saw in college.

I would have to see it to believe it. Not saying he didn't do it, but that is flying for someone his age... or anyone for that matter.

Perhaps I will send him an email.

Yeah I know the guy is jacked and in great shape but he isn't in speed shape. He is in fighting shape/weight. There is no way in hell a 40 yr old man can move that much bulk muscle in 4.3.

The Vikings just traded their entire 2012 and 2013 draft allotment for him after seeing this picture.
