Herman set to get a $5 million bonus when Houston joins the Big 12.

Honestly, Houston should have been invited to the Big 12 a long time ago. They can compete well in that league.

Another potential no one talks about it assistant salaries. We may not pay him much more than they would, but LSU would let him spend 5+ million on assistants.

Well over a million over even the number 4 and 5 teams on the list.

Houston is going Big-12 and Herman is getting 5-6 mil.

As good as the LSU job is (and I agree it is a very, very good one), that won't be enough to overcome the chance to lead Houston into the new conference. The money and exposure (assuming he has NFL aspirations) would be similar and the competition weaker.

Now, if the B12 screws the pooch on expansion and the Houston deal falls through you've probably got a good shot.

I agree with all of this. I personally think Herman will stay at Houston

Wish I could bump your threads from the summer. Considering your track record of being a dumbass I can't seriously entertain any idea that you bring here.

A whole offseason salivating over 15-0. Spending the whole season salivating over getting Herman is going to end with similar disappointment.

Of all the possible responses you could have gone with, this is where you plant your flag? If you have to tell people you're smarter than them, you're probably not. If you're just bragging that you spent a lot of money on an education that you then pissed away, I think you missed the point. Either way, rethink this strategy next time. Or at least think about it the first time.

The B12 is going to expand or die and they've finally realized it. The problem is that they aren't that many attractive candidates for expansion and they need a minimum of two teams. Of all the available options, there aren't two that are better than Houston.

They will compete very well in that league. It's a no brainer for them to join/be invited.
