Born Andrew John Bond II, Bond's college career included a 6-3 win over Alabama in 1980, a game still considered by Bulldog fans to be the greatest in school history.[1][2] In addition, Bond is the only quarterback in college football history to beat LSU four times.,[3] and he was also named the MVP of the 1981 Hall of Fame Bowl.

Miss State's new QB for 2016 just set the record for rushing yards against a strong SC defense. Also LSU unveils throwback unis, why temp fate when Tiger fans, myself included, are still haunted by the seemingly unstoppable runs of John Bond? I"ll be praying LSU wins, somehow.

OMG, no opposing QB ever struck fear in LSU fans like this guy. That's saying alot. He owned LSU. Hopefully LSU's defense has an answer for Miss State's running QB in 2016. No more nightmares.

I was at State those years and at all those games.
Bondini was as much fun to hang out with off the field as he was to watch on the field.

Don't worry we play only 7 guys on defense. The other 4 are there to keep the referees out of harms way.

To LSU's defense and Bama's defense to some extent, Bond was like a fricking ghost, no one could lay a hand on him, they just tackled air.

Don't worry, LSU's offense usually only runs two plays, both are draw plays.

He's easy to find at State home games. He's just a cool dude that can tell a story like no other. The first time I met him was at the MSU/UK game on Oct 30, 2011 and he told me big things were happening....then 3 or 4 days later the Cam Newton story broke. Good times lol

Here is a quick 40 minutes of the 1982 game I found without commercials etc. Play starts after the 15 second intro of radio announcer Jack Cristil commenting in disgust after a terrible game in the 2000's. Classic Jack Cristil lol.

I was at that game.

1st Night Game @ Scott Field: they brought in temporary lights, so it could be on ABC.

I rang my Cowbell so hard, I lost the clapper.

That game was not anywhere close to Bond's best game but LSU had the #1 defense in the nation that year. It was a grind by both teams.
