And that's kind of how the "Germans" saying got started, because before, whenever people would post old news, others would respond "Titanic sinks, We landed on the Moon, Japs bomb Pearl Harbor", etc. One day someone used the Belushi line (Germans bomb PH) instead, and then somebody else decided to shorten it to Germans, and I guess it stuck. (I'm sure most of you had known that, though.)

remember that deathcab for cutie concert that my g/f was going to, well that is it so no not really doing anything cool. not paying for the ticket though so i hope i can atleast get some good food and drinks while i'm there.

It is not only a ego saver, but, on occasions,
a useful educational tool as well.
I often wondered if these two have indeed lived at the "Bear Bryant Bubbagump Isolation Center
for Mental Illnesses and Sheer Ineptitude" all their lives. I'm beginning to believe it now.
This was a classic example of why we refer to them as gumps.
And hell, a lot of fun.

And anyway, FWIW, BT used it in the wrong context, because in the movie, the quote's used when they're "losing"/down on themselves, as a rallying point, not when they're on top, so I have know idea why BT pulled it out there, anyway, since LSU was winning. It really doesn't make any sense.

I think the majority of them have said "frick reading comprehension, we'll just make up our own shite and run with it." Those two goofballs last night just couldn't get it to save their lives.
As for being out of context, I took it as you just having some fun with the Gumps and quoting one of the best movie quotes ever. It was Gov that turned it into a fricking mess. His sig quote had me cracking up and shaking my head.
