It's a three horse race...Henry, Watson and the McCaffery kid.

I don't get why people keep putting Watson in and not Mayfield.

Mayfield's numbers are much better than Watson's and he's played a tougher schedule.

Alright, I declare this topic dead. No more discussing it. It is over. Every point that could have been made has been made on all sides, even the Dalvin Cook side.

I know Derrick Henry is considered the frontrunner at this time, but Dalvin Cook’s season has been more impressive based on these numbers. Consider that Cook still accounts for a higher percentage of the school’s rushing and receiving yards despite missing a game and a half of action due to injury (hamstring and ankle). Add on the fact that Dalvin Cook stands alone in big play runs (10 percent is a huge figure) and yards after contact. Cook is doing this all on just 36% of the school’s offensive touches (compared to McCaffrey 45% and Henry’s 41%). The FSU running back is putting up numbers similar to Ezekiel Elliott’s dominant three game stretch to end last year, but for the entire season. Dalvin Cook has been the best running back in the country this year… That is not to say Derrick Henry has not been outstanding. He has. I’m an advocate of Henry’s in terms of his NFL projection. It is amazing how his numbers actually improve against better competition (top 25 ranked teams).

Henry has been good but Cook has really put together an impressive per-game season. But then again, momentum is in Henry's corner.

Look man, I asked you a simple question.

If Fournette was "punked" by Arkansas and "bitch slapped" by OM, how would you describe what they did to Henry?

Henry brought us back against Ole Miss and sealed the deal against Arkansas. What you aren't seeing is that those games were in September and early October. What did Henry do in November? What did LF do in November? So Henry got stonewalled and punked in September and October. He didn't do it in November like LF

What you aren't getting is it only matters when they were for the heisman discussion. I've already said Fournette won't win it. What you also seem to be missing is by trying to shite on Fournette for those two games you're also shitting on your own team's player.

Get some perspective before spouting off next time.

Fournette had more yards from scrimmage against Arkansas and Ole Miss and a much better YPC against Arkansas.

Do you need me to disprove more of your ignorant statements?

ETA: Also, saying Henry's performance against AU was more impressive than Fournette's could be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen posted here.

I have to disagree. I love Fournette, and think he's one of, if not the best RB I've ever seen. But the truth of the matter is LSU OL normally underachieves and is inconsistent in general. But more importantly, the great coaches adjust to him when they play LSU, and because of our offensive scheme, and horrible QB play, he can be stopped. Just like this year.

I can see no reason why it will be any different next year. He'll go beast mode against certain teams, and get shut down by the better coached teams.

Guys, did you know that Henry had more yards than Fournette in the Alabama-LSU game?

I think we should address that for a few pages.

What about more total yards? More TDs?

Fournette had more total yards against Arkansas and Ole Miss. More TDs against AU.

Again, saying Henry outperformed him in every game against common opponents is laughably stupid.

Since bama does not have a #2 back, you should probably use ypc. Henry needs a decent ypc against UF to better him on the year. Also needs 4 TDs against UF to equal Fournette.

Bama had more of a #2 than LSU did before Drake went down again.

Henry has 22 TDs, Fournette has 18.

Mayfield wont be playing on championship weekend, the biggest weekend of the year

Henry, Watson, and McCaffery will have one more data point

Make no mistake it is between Henry and Watson. Whoever performs the worst is out
