I guess none of these are meaningful stats now?

They're all meaningful stats. Frankly, until the Bama game, I was fully in Fournette's corner. I still think he's a lot better than some trolls here give him credit for.

One thing LSU fans won't like -- and since it's difficult to quantify without going through every game, they'll be free to do so -- is the fact that Saban has a history of using Henry to eat up the clock at the end of the game, which means he often runs right into the middle of the line and grinds to a stop. That has an effect on his YPC.

Mayfield wont be playing on championship weekend, the biggest weekend of the year

Even with the extra game Mayfield's numbers are better against better competition. He won't win because of the lack of exposure this weekend, but Watson won't win even with it.

Also, Watson's numbers just don't measure up, as far as QBs go, the last 5 winners.

Newton - 3,998 yards with 48 TDs
Griffin - 4,642 yards with 45 TDs
Manziel - 4,600 yards with 43 TDs
Winston - 4,013 yards with 42 TDs
Mariota - 4,452 yards with 52 TDs

Watson - 3,979 with 36 TDs (One more game to play)

Better competition? Yeah. Better defenses? Questionable in the extreme. Not because Watson's faced tough defenses but because the B12 has done nothing to dispel the myth of not playing defense.

True. Better competition, not defenses for sure.

I just don't think Watson has impressive enough numbers to win it over Henry.

I'm good with any of these 3 taking it. Just as long as Deshaun Watson doesn't win. I'm not as impressed with that guy as everybody else is.

Listen this idiocy of saying Henry was better against Auburn than Fournette just makes you look stupid. Fournette so dominated Auburn, players avoided trying to tackle him and he didn't have a fourth quarter carry. He would have had well over 300 yards if he carried the ball in the 4th quarter. You've got plenty of ammo to talk up Henry for the Heisman, don't blindly just throw up stats without looking at what actually happened in the game.

You arent wrong

Its just how it goes

If Watson goes off and Henry is below average Watson will win. If Watson is average and Henry has a decent game he will win. Too much recency bias

This is why I vote to abolish the Heisman its just dumb

But he didn't. Henry had a better game.

You can watch him this weekend prove he is the better RB too, I'll be sure to keep an eye on LF7s stats this weekend to compare.

22 for 223 and 3 TDs >>>>>>> 46 for 271 and 1 TD

There's no way to try and spin it and not sound stupid, btw. You're giving it the old college try though, aren't you?

It's a QB trophy with the occasional RB thrown in every now and then.

"The best player in college football" tagline is a joke.

Henry was better in every game.

46 carries for 271 and 1 TD is not better than 19 carries for 228 and 3 TDs

27 carries for 95 yards and 1 TD is not better than 19 carries for 91 yards and 1 TD

127 yards on 23 carries and 39 yards receiving is not better than 108 yards on 25 carries and 72 yards receiving.

Using your logic, then Cook should win, right?

It's an independent trophy. Best way to abolish it is to get people to stop caring. Once enough people have no idea who won the Heisman, and don't care who will win it next, it becomes irrelevant.

Cook should get more attention than he is. I honestly wonder if his arrest is what's keeping him from the discussion.
