You put together two totally different quotes to make a point that are talking about the same thing...

Chizik : He said HBO did not attempt to contact him for comment.

HBO spokesman Ray Stallone released a statement today. He said producers called the Auburn sports information department and “read to them in detail” allegations made by the players.

The point that a lot of you guys miss is that these guys basically volunteered this information for zero gain.

They weren't paid by HBO.

They risked a lot by talking.

It would have to be a pretty hefty "axe-to-grind" for someone to come out and make up this shite out of thin air.

Really, where is the pay off for these guys now?

Pretty sure Chizik's point was of all the Auburn players contacted, 13 total, they only chose four who were willing to say they rec'd money.

This^^^

They interviewed several and kept asking them "off the record" and said nothing happened, yet no clips of this.

Pretty sure he flat out stated they didn't get a chance to tell his side and wasn't contacted.

Well did they Shane, err...Hunter? I didn't hear any other side of the story? I didn't hear from Quentin Groves? If Chizik would have talked to them would they have aired it? Would it have stopped the show from airing? Did they not say that claims made on the show could not be confirmed?

It's like the thread yesterday...I think Alahunter likes to have sex with goats...so I guess it's true.

So they read them the allegations?

YES..

d they allow them to respond

Yes.. the response was "no comment" read the link..

resent players who offered statements to the contrary?

Pretty sure the story was about players getting payed to play. Now had the story been about players NOT getting paid then the ones who have not been paid by Auburn could have been on..

You're missing Chizik's point. All four interviews were with players that said they took money. HBO wasn't interested in interviewing Auburn players that said they didn't take money.

So, I guess we can dismiss everything Chiz has said, since he's now a liar, right?

If you're doing a story about players getting paid.....why would you air the players that said they weren't getting paid?

It doesn't make the ones that said they were liars.

And? maybe the others weren't paid. That doesn't change the fact that the the other four said they were paid. If i'm accused of robbing a bank they don't interview bank managers that i havent robbed.

That's probably because the special was about players getting paid...

McClover is having his camp televised by HBO.

Reddick was denied an Auburn GA position.

Chaz Ramsey just had a lawsuit against Auburn dropped.

You can't say that those are all just coincidences.

Wasn't Prothro on there saying he never took any money from anyone? Why only one kid from one team?

The point Chizik and most Auburn folks are making is that the HBO piece was FAR from investigative as they would have you believe.

I guess that calculates to Auburn ONLY PAYING 30% of the players that were contacted. I am sure the NCAA would not think 30% is a significant number.

They interviewed players from other schools that said they didn't get paid.

Yeah, so? Just because 9 interviewed players didn't take money doesn't negate the fact that four did. Those four are going to make for better viewing. Auburn is an evil entity in all this, like it or not. HBO is out to take sides, not inform the masses of the full spectrum
