Because Mullen was too worried about getting put in the hole by David Miscavige to be concerned about football

Why does OP call him Mullins? Is that an insult?

Serious question, is there a stated medical reason for this?

On Egg Bowl day with two great receivers out and an injured quarterback, the Rebels made MSU look like a junior college and a Heismann hopeful but not likely look like a junior high quarterback.

Hey! it amazed some of us Ole MIss fans, too! It wasn't home field advantage by any means. Sometimes Ole Miss fans are very complacent ( party is before and after) during the game. It is frustrating because we COULD actually do better in the spirit department, but no matter, and without ten million clanging cow bells, the Rebel team whooped you pretty good. That's because Hugh Freeze knows that hatred sidetracks a team. He does not spend an entire season preaching a nuclear war against MSU.
THIS year's team was a very special group. They overcame adversity and disappointment several times, but they never quit believing in themselves.
There was a lot of determination and unselfishness in the character of that team. I felt all along that something special might show up for the Egg Bowl. The Rebels were prepared and ready to WIN not just play a game. That comes from within each one of those young men and from the excellent coaching staff they play for! The best team won the Egg Bowl hands down.

Yes, we had the better team for a myriad of reasons beyond the stats and record for the year. In the Egg Bowl, we played better, acted better, and got the trophy back home in Oxford. Coach Freeze does his best to keep the team from being sidetracked by meaningless back and forth yow yowing at each other. And OM did it NOT with cheap shots and idle threats, but with sheer courage, determination, and Teamwork. Dan looked like a deer in headlights that day, and Dak was turned every which way but loose. The OM win was not a fluke. It was not achieved because of bad calls by the REFS. It was not because Dak had a knot in his shoestrings....it was smash mouth in your face physical football. Ole Miss had the better team all year long and in the Egg Bowl.
You don't agree? Good for you! The proof is on the scoreboard when the dust clears.
Best Egg Bowl I've witnessed in ten years.
Sweet sweet victory!
