Updyke logic

It's called hyperbole. A lot of folks apparently need to look it up.

Along with how to use the quote feature here.

I thought the flag out of the tunnel thing was a good idea. I'm sure most of our fellow SEC schools are down for that, but it nonetheless feels like we're counterculture to a lot of schools/sports.

I think it was a great idea. I wish more schools would bring back some patriotism. It seems our whole country is moving away from being proud to be an American. Kudos to Auburn.

You would probably be correct if you played Akron every week.

I suppose you can look at it this way.

Thanks for replying.

So... Gus hates America?
Is that Auburn's new take?

They have no idea about Harsin, but they’ll find out soon enough.

Here Auburn fans go forgetting about SoS again.

Boise St mentality sinking in.

Auburn fans don't seem to realize he took over a very successful program and lowered their win%.

Not even the first time he's coached after Gus, he did so at Arkansas St as well, where he...proceeded to do worse than Gus.

Seems to me it's Auburn fans who don't know about Harsin.

So you’re saying Dabo sucks because of his SOS?

Have you ever seen a coach rotate 3 quarterbacks throughout 1 game?

Clemson having a slightly easier schedule is no secret, but it's still worlds better than that of Boise St.

More importantly, Dabo increased the win% of the program he took over. Meanwhile, every program Harsin has taken over has dropped in their win%.

Tommy Bowden @ Clemson: .573 win%
Dabo @ Clemson: .828

Dabo clearly came into that program and made it better.

Let's take a look at Harsin.

Gus @ Ark St: .750 win%
Harsin: .583

Boise St:
Peterson: .885
Harsin: .784

You'd have to go back to the late 90's to find a coach with a lower win% @ Boise St.

So again, if he is successful at Auburn, it'll be the first time he's improved a program.

Saban has done it with 2. I didn't think it meant we were unprepared for the game.

3? Didn't 5 people take snaps vs. Clemson a few years ago?

Yeah, you can tell a lot from a sample size of 11 games.

It's not just 11 games. I went over his entire career as a HC.

You ignored having to go back 20 years to find someone who did worse @ Boise St.

It's cool though, I knew Auburn fans couldn't deal with the reality when I posted.

While on the topic of Arkansas St though, you'd have to go back 10 years to find someone who did worse. The previous coach was Hugh Freeze, who had a .883 record while at Arkansas St.

That's awesome. I wish more teams would do that.

I have to say, I thought Harsin was a pretty impressive guy at SEC media days, and he looks like a pretty good coach. He might even end up making it hard for me to hate Auburn, which is weird.

Ok, so you thought Gus was prepared for that game. I guess we're done here.
