Whens the last time Alabama finished outside the top 5 in recruiting? BTW, there is very little difference in the #1 class and the #5 class. There's a reason why Malzahn had the best record against Saban. Coaching and game planning. It definitely wasn't because he had more talent. Same reason goes for the 4OT win in the Iron Bowl. On paper, that game should not have been close. Hell, Vegas had Alabama as a 20 point favorite.

Sure

Plenty of Coaches win by “out-coaching” the other…that’s why the best team doesn’t always win…
