I don’t dispute that, but he may have other reasons. Think his team is talented and can make a run next year/ not want to move his family, maybe just trying to change the subject away from his performance so he doesn’t get beat on, etc. I was just explaining what some think on this board.

I'm biased as hell....I accept the fact that an Ag could have done it. We may lead the league in stupidity sometimes, but.......
I think the letter was sent by somebody to stir shite up.....see what kind of reaction they could elicit.
So, they write a letter throwing in the N word, which I believe was central to their plan. In todays climate, what better way is there to damage someone's reputation. And, of course in this case, an anonymous letter affects the reputation of everyone associated with A&M.
They had to have a "motive" for writing the letter, so the low hanging fruit is to disparage Sumlin as a coach...he has "sucked" after all, but as someone's already mentioned, that's pretty lame ridicule to use when your willing to use the N word. Hey, you're anonymous...if you're an Ag and pissed enough to to write letter expressing your frustration, is "suck" the best you can come up with?
So, the motivation was to get the N word out and attribute it to Ags. The criticism of Sumlin as a coach was lame. What else does the letter need? A threat of course. And what means business more than "or else".
Now if your sending a letter anonymously, would you put a return address? Of course not. Obviously the return address is bogus, but there is a reason for it just the same. Houston is a Aggie town. So what better return address than the Houston Country Club. Let's see how long it takes the media to figure out the return address and then blame some rich Former Student.
The letter was sent to stir shite up, but anyone can see the sarcasm throughout.
I just can't imagine who would send such a letter.
