I've met both TCU fans. They're okay.
Horn Frog fans turn out pretty well these days. Patterson put them on the map and the program has had sustained success since then. People have responded.
It is actually a pretty cool story, given how historically irrelevant the program was prior to his arrival and how the school lost out in the Big 12 shuffle. The school leaders have done an impressive job.

Good write up. I have been there many times over the years. I still like Joe T's but there is much better mexican food in FW. Plus the Stockyards are always fun.
The only thing I would add is depending on when you go, you might be able to double up on sports by going to a Rangers or Cowboys game depending on if they are at home on the following Sunday.

Went vs Okstate last year, lots of orange in the stands. It’s a small school, less than 80,000 living alumni.
Ft. Worth is fun, stockyards are great to drink at. Flying saucer downtown is great.
Couldn’t find a tailgating spot really as it’s urban, so went to a bar and pregames before going in.

I went a few years ago to WVU vs TCU. First off, the parking is fricking shite. We had to walk about 2 miles. 2nd, even with Game day there, the stadium wasn't even three quarters full. It was a match up of top 25 teams and it never got remotely loud. I've been to HS games that had more buzz about it than the stadium had. The campus on the other hand was very nice.

Nice stadium. Feels larger than it is. Lots of legroom and large concourses.
They have passionate fans, surprisingly.

tcu did a good job of updating their stadium. i would ride a shuttle to and from. i always enjoyed going to games there. lots of talent. my son coached in the big 12 for a number of years so i always was on the sideline. their student section was just like most, fun stuff, always on visitors side. did i say a lot of talent?

Have any schools been trying to hire TCU AD Jeremiah Donati?

Yes. And it was alright. Nice fans. Wasn't that hard to drive in, obviously busy and crowded, but not crazy. Ofcourse that was a long time ago. And my memories are going to be positively biased since we won the game. But I'd still say it's worth the visit.
