I mean, Updike was a Finebaum caller. That’s how it all starts out.

What? Are these supposed to be insults?

Depression about being a MSU fan in StarkVegas

Very few MSU fans live in Starkville after college. I don’t think anyone is depressed about being a MSU fan as we all knew what we were signing up for - unlike the mentally unhealthy fans that hop on a bandwagon and lose their shite when tough times hit (ala Updyke poisoning the trees).

Projection

Projection is a psychological defense mechanism in which individuals attribute characteristics they find unacceptable in themselves to another person. For example, a husband who has a hostile nature might attribute this hostility to his wife and say she has an anger management problem.

Ok fine. But why hasn't Auburn faced scrutiny for its role in killing those trees too? We all know why. The media and non Bama fans loved smearing Bama with Updyke's deed.

Its their trees.

They also weren't killing them intentionally like your buddy did.

Sure, but if a parent kills their own child, even if unintentionally, through neglect, or poor parenting, wouldn't that deserve attention too?

Sounds like someone trying to deflect from the fact that someone in his fanbase was so angry over losing a football game that he destroyed landmarks significant to another fan base.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Alabama fans have killed actual people over games, trees are pretty far down your list of fanbase atrocities.

Now tell the rest of the story.

The part where it had nothing to do with the game, or does that not fit your narrative?
