I went on a trip in December and needed a food rec from HRV but, of course, he disappeared after Bama won the SEC championship just like he disappeared when Bama destroyed LSU and when Bama made the Final Four. Its all about timing with that guy

I ate at Stobys in Russellville and liked the breakfast burrito, cheese dip and biscuits with chocolate gravy.

Visit the Crescent Hotel if you haven't visited.
They have a restaurant on the very top that serves pizza and beer.

Yes, besides the Buffalo River, you could veer to a east a bit and hit Mountain View for historical bluegrass music
back to the Buffalo River area, the Waltons have begun buying up property in the tributary areas that begin the river around Kingston (famous for Madison Guarantee of "Whitewater" fame, and Jim McDougal) - Waltons have big plans in that area I believe

I heard the locals are not liking the Waltons getting involved in that area.

It is, excellent family. Tried to get them to expand smaller franchises into smaller towns a couple of years back. Not given up yet.
Also, yep... waltons have plans for Buffalo, others disagree... Crap fest.
Also, yes... to others. Harry is passionate as a frick, smart as a whip, and can argue better than most I have seen.

I can't get a feel for what their plans are. I know they bought up some historical buildings that they obviously plan on preserving
it's a fun one to watch I think - the Walton's are very conservation minded and history minded

I met possibly the patriarch once I think in the past 7 years, and he was as unassuming as you ever find a nice old guy. Have no idea what his name was but he handed me a freebie card of some sort for some food there, but I hardly have time to get down there (ETA: I guess this was before they laid brick and mortar up here in NWA). Like I said, I imagine he was the main guy, or one of the main brothers, or who knows. I don't know their story yet.
Feltner's got up here too, great family.
Restaurants are scary to own. Gotta be brave to take that plunge. I think the most successful would quote Dave Ramsey, get rich slow (not fast)

Bryant Creek near Gainesville, MO is a great place to float. Check out Dawt Mill if you haven't.

I use to go a place called the Pea Ridge Cafe and it was pretty good.
Then covid hit and the place struggled to get people to wait tables. They were getting a check to stay home and they just couldn't staff enough when it got busy.
They closed due to not making any money but just couldn't find any help. That was a bummer.
Another good place that closed down was Glasgows in Bentonville.
That Tex-Mex place was awesome and so was the cheese dip.
Then it closed down not due to being bad or anything but the owner was tired of running it was and ready to retire. He probably sold it between 2-4 million dollars. It kinda pissed me off that the building was torn down and a 7brews coffee stands in that place but I would if was in the shoes of the owner then I would understand.
