True, and I think Mark Twain was a bit of a socialist/commie

Missouri is the home of Egan's Rats who shot it out with Jelly Roll Hogan's gang and lost. Jelly's house is still standing and about a half mile from where I live.

Capone was quoted as saying he wouldn't fool with the Stl Mob because they scared him.

Gooey butter cake for the win.

If you find yourself craving ice cream while in St. Louis, (skip the custard at Ted Drewes) head over to one of Clementine’s locations and get yourself a scoop of the Gooey Butter Cake ice cream.

Josey Wales was based on Bill Wilson. They use that name in the movie. His story is amazing.

Another is Sam Hildebrand. He was a Southern sniper aka Bushwacker and had the blue bellies running scared throughout the civil war. His autobiography is a great read.

There was also a book written about the exodus of some Missourians leaving and going to Texas…..I think the Outlaw Josey Wales was based on that book , Gone To Texas.

It was all marketing. You should be a little pissed at him, because he helped turn public opinion against the war when he lied about the Tet Offensive. The politicians took over guiding the war, and resulted in our soldiers becoming casualties because we wouldn't conduct the war in a normal way.

Every newscast on every network led off with the death count from both sides. I’m sure Walter was responsible for all the casualties. bullshite. How old are you. Were you born when all this happened or are you dependent upon some dude who hates Walter for some reason. That wasn’t a war, it was a damn business for those who were making bank and it needed to end.

Blaming him for any of that shite is a huge reach because of hate. Screw that. Ridiculous.

I said he helped turn public opinion. Look into the records released when the Soviet Union collapsed. Tet was one of the greatest victories of our men in uniform during Vietnam, but Cronkite went on the air within 48 hours of the start and declared it a huge setback. He had no knowledge, just crafted a narrative.

Vietnam was the start of our "Forever Wars" and never should have happened. I never indicated any support for the Vietnam war; I implied Cronkite's reporting helped drag it out into a torturous thing.

Good grief, Walter did that? He reported the news, not like the crap we watch today, and I don’t watch it anymore. Accusing him of escalating Vietnam is ridiculous.

How much power do you think he had? I watched what that cluster frick was on tv knowing I was in line to be there and at no time do I remember Walter being a factor.

That whole time period was a damn mess with the war and civil rights, assassinations, riots, it was a cluster frick.

And Walter screwed up Vietnam?…ridiculous.

I guess he killed Kennedy too. That Vietnam crap was making alot of people rich and Walter wasn’t one of them. Maybe he was tired of seeing innocent people killed.
