Did you copy this thread from a few years ago when Muschamp was hired as defensive coordinator at Auburn?

Funny that Arkansas posters are so down on him. Yes he was bad at Arkansas but that program had shite talent. He will have more weapons at his fingertips now. More like when he was at Clemson
Its not like Arkansas is some kind of offensive measuring stick

I realize this might be a troll thread (Guessing it is) but....Morris called the plays at Clemson a short time ago and did a good job. I mean, if Gus will leave him alone and let him call the plays isn't it possible thta he could do well? I mean, he wasn't calling the plays at Arkansas, right?
Am I missing something other than this is a troll thread?
The biggest key is, will Gus allow him to call the plays. He hasn't let anybody in the past that I know of. Maybe Morris has a resume that Gus will respect and let him go.

As a Head Coach. There are plenty of excellent coordinators that absolutely suck at being a head coach.
Absolutley suck doesn't even coming close to describing his tenure. "Worse than anything that could have possibly been imagined by even the most pessimistic of observers" would be a factual, and accurate way to describe his tenure. When you are that historcally awful is undermines your previous success.

Clemson has only improved on offense since he has left.
I get that, but Clemson wasn't recruiting at nearly the lever they are now, either. I mean, DID Morris call the plays at Arkansas? If not, what are you going on that makes you think he can't still call plays?

I was going to say the same.
I don’t blame Arkansas folks a lick for disagreeing with me; but I think for whatever reason, some coaches just fit better at different universities.
Each of us could likely think of a coach who excelled at our school, yet was mediocre elsewhere.
Franchione was fine at Bama but destroyed our program for over a decade.
Gillispie would’ve ended up with a statue on TAMU’s campus, yet Kentucky wouldn’t spit on him, were he on fire.
It’s wild.

He took it back over on a few occasions and failed miserably every time.

The fact that Chad Morris had the two worst seasons in the history of the Razorback program and that a man who couldn't draw up a plan to beat Western Kentucky, North Texas, & San Jose St. at home with an SEC team is somehow even midly competent for any position of authority in D1 CFB.

It's gonna be so much fun watching AU hang 50+ on the piglets this fall.

Never know, he could be an elite OC. Hands down the worst HC I've ever seen, but he was in way over his head, and it was pretty obvious early this season. Doesn't mean he wont be a good OC. I wish him all the worst.

Again...they are recruiting better because they have played better. Morris was there when they started playing better. They were on the upswing when Morris was there and they have just continued that.

That was as a head coach. Come on, man. I get it. He did a poor job as a head coach while at Arkansas. but he won't be the head coach at Auburn.

You need to let it go. Morris is gone. Pittman is the man now. I think, and hope Pittman does a great job. I really do. he's a great guy. Concentrate on that and not on your past.

I'll go ahead and assume Chad has been dismissed by our game so probably.

I don't get why some can't comprehend that someone's performance as a head coach is rarely a harbinger of how they will perform as an assistant. I see this every time a coordinator is hired after a poor performance as a head coach and it baffles me why this narrative keeps happening.

We had a RB, TE, and 2 if not 3 wide receivers who would start for most SEC teams. The QB Morris ran off, came back and hung 40 on us with Western Kentucky. O-line sucked, but any coach not retarded could have schemed us some wins, at least against the Schools for the Blind that we lost to this year.

I only use the desktop version. I'm not going to stand around and stare at a phone. People don't have any idea how dumb that looks. If I can't wait until I get home, then that is pretty pathetic.

Lol just stop. We have more talent than San Jose State, North Texas, Western Kentucky, etc.
He ran off Ty Storey because he wasn't good enough to start at QB for him and the next season Storey ends up 6th in the nation in passing efficiency.

No one has ever been as bad as Chad Morris was as a HC and get this high profile of a coordinator job. It is unprecedented to give a coach that just had the two worst seasons in that program's history the "keys to your offense". This is the equivalent of a Florida International head football coach going 0-12 3 years in a row and somehow ends up getting a job as Arkansas State's OC mere weeks later. It's insane he has this job if you stop and think about it.
