I wish we could take a poll on this but only ask non-UGA or SC fans.
I and several other UGA fans have agreed it's probably Lattimore if you exclude injury proclivity. I don't think it's a necessary question. You will not see the same ability to remove the shades and stop drinking the Kool-Aid from the Cock fans because that is just who they are...

it's really splitting hairs at this point. Two great backs.
Bingo. 2 great backs in 2 different freshman seasons.

IMO this is a pointless and stupid argument....it's the same as the one comparing Alshon Jeffery to A.J. Green. UGA fans are going to stick by their guy, and USC fans will stick by theirs. No side is going to win the other over.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh OK

In my original post I asked for the opinion of non UGA and South Carolina fans.
I have only been lurking for about a year before I made my name. Did you guys seriously try to argue that alshons fatass was better than aj green?

Dumbest comment in this thread. I mean.....damn dude.

Ya... no one will ever successfully argue Alshon Jeffery over AJ Green

It's the same argument, asshat. Just over a career, instead of comparing one season. Jeffrey had better total numbers, but Green did it in fewer games due to off the field issues and injuries. But yes... throw in Julio Jones and that was the conversation. And it all came down to who you rooted for, as per usual.

I know I mean one had 400 more yards than the other and the same number of touchdowns... Why even bother...

One of them played in 5 more games than the other...

Hence where I said that Green did it in fewer games due to off the field issues and injuries... Though if you look at the 2010 season where Green missed the first four due to Jersey Gate, if he just got his average of 94 per game he still would have come up 200 yards short of Jeffery's 1500.
Honestly, though, I think both arguments (Green/Jeffery or Lattimore/Gurley) are silly as all of them are star players.

For those thinking it is completely ridiculous and losing their shite over someone arguing Jeffery over Green:
AJ Green had 166 catches for 2619 yards in 32 games. 7 100 yard games (22% of all games). YPC= 15.8, YPG= 82
Alshon Jeffery had 183 catches for 3042 yards in 40 games. 12 100 yard games (30% of games). YPC= 16.6, YPG= 76
Both had 23 TDs.
If we give Green 8 more games, based on his 82 ypg, he should have 3274 yards and maybe 6 more TDs. 232 yards more than Jeffery.
Based on actual performance and stats, Jeffery has the clear edge while being the SEC's second leading receiver all-time. Good luck trying to find a Gamecock saying they'd rather have Green and a Bulldog saying they'd rather have Jeffery. Just the way the world is. Both are Palmetto State products too, btw.

Gurley>>>>>>>>>>>Lattimore after FR year.
a few other recent SEC FR I would take over Lattimore.....
Richardson
Ingram
Lacy
Hill
Dyer
Hilliard
..... the list gets longer at the soph level.

And here I thought this thread was hijacked by stupid on page 5. Way to take it up another level
A better comparison is Julio or AJ, but to include Alshon? Color yourself retarded and step away from the keyboard.

Gurley had a great year, but he definitely benefited from having another stud RB in the backfield.
I'm obviously biased to Marcus as I watched every run of his career, but his most impressive moments were those 4th quarters where he wore down the opponent.
Also, he is the best I have ever seen at making something out of nothing, just look at his TD run against LSU this year.

The purpose of posting those stats was to illustrate that CIYE was patently wrong when insinuating that Gurley managed to rack up all his stats against the sisters of the poor.
Against the same "better" teams of the SEC, Lattimore had better stats his freshman season, it's posted on several spots in this thread. That's a reason (along with the others I already posted) why I would want him over Gurley going into the 2nd season.
