i don't think he or gurley would have but idk. both were dynamic but you have to remember early on many thought it was marshall who'd start. from what i hear not the coaches but it's hard to say IMO

i think if crow remains vs Buffalo he'd start, then malcome, then maybe some gurley and or marshall with both of them doing a lot more STs. i'd like to think gurley would break through to be 2nd string though and then take over after crow pulled his vag again

ETA: i also think the staff would be kinda gun shy on RS a RB after knowshon but what do i know

I would assume so, since we didn't use a 3rd RB much and the one we did use this year (Ken Malcome) is a serviceable upperclassman and probably would've had that role.

GUILTY!

All these crimes have happened since Gurley got on campus. Not one...ONE happened before Gurley arrived.

You gonna sit here and tell me its a coincidence that these happen at the same time that Gurley is on campus?

That dog aint gonna hunt!

I say no contest because Lattimore carried that entire team to an SEC East title, he was the heart and soul of that football team. Gurley is a fantastic player but he has a more complete team around him than lattimore did in 2010

Latti had alshon but we offset alshon with stephen garcia

If I had to build a team and they were both 100% healthy, I would pick Gurley. He's just a special back.

Great question because it was actually Gurley who was rumored to RS before the Crowell dismissal since Marshall was an EE.

Blessing in disguise really.

I don't know what type of team Latt had that year but even being biased I'm smart enough to know that Latt was too good to call it no contest. Valid points though.

You know what I find funny and how I know Latti has been the best back in the league since he got here?

Endless threads about who is better Lattimore or Dyer? Lattimore or Kniles? Lattimore or Crowell? Lattimore or Richardson? Lattimore or Gurley?

There is only 1 name that everyone compares their RBs too over the last couple of years and that is Sir Marcus Lattimore

Personally think Trent Richardson was better than Lattimore. I asked the question because of running styles and similarity in stats.

Oh I know and people can make plenty of reasonable arguments as to why each of those may or may not be better than Lattimore. The point I was making was simply that since he joined the SEC in 2010 he has been the bar to which RBs have been measured by.

What kind of run scheme are we using?

ZBS? Gurley.

Just a straight power run scheme? Latt.

Spread? Gurley.

Not sure why you have to compare these two>? I honestly think Lattimore was more of a factor in the Cocks winning the East that year and meant more to the team then Gurley did to UGA this year. however, Gurley looks to edge Latti out in skill. But honestly, I really can't pick a winner, they are both amazing.

Completely valid point. I will say those numbers would be doubled if da crow was still reigning in Athens

ITT: Dawg fans crowing about how great Gurley is

amirite?

(both are great backs, only wish Lattimore could have stayed healthy and hope Gurley can for his career )
