I don't see what the big deal is. Every coach gets a statue when they win a NC.
it's a little premature... if nothing else. There's plenty of time to erect a statue and worship at it's feet. What if Miami had a statue of larry coker standing outside the orange bowl?... or what about les miles out front of tiger stadium? I'm not implying that Saban will go down that path, but anything's possible...and when it comes to erecting statues, time usually isn't a factor.

Intelligent peoples do not erect statues to living football coaches. I am astounded that someone with an iota of taste or propriety did not step in and put stop to this.
Football coaches who do not have delusions of grandeur do not allow people to erect statues to themselves.
If the Gumps win the next 1,000 football games, they will still be a bunch of sadly ignorant fools.

Do Alabama fans erect themselves in front of the statue?

is his birthday a holiday now?
Well yes actually. Sort of. His birthday is on Halloween. And this is old as frick anyway. It has been known ever since he got here that if he won a National Championship he would get a statue out there with the others. Why do people make such a big deal out of it

You are either jealous or mad or a dunce. That is such old news even Hitler wouldn't touch it.

Umm, Gene Stallings is still living, Bobby Bowden, Joe Paterno.....Stop freaking out about this. It's not that big of a deal. Besides you are acting like the fans are the ones that are putting the statue up, we aren't. It's the school doing it.

Bro, I don't ever call ppl out for spelling errors, but your grammar is on a junior high level. Maybe you shouldn't be calling ppl ignorant fools.

I don't disagree with any of that... it's a commentary of the entire state, really... the university of alabama is erecting a statue of the current 3rd year football coach while the rest of the public school system continues to suffer through proration and cut backs.

Is this a mistype? God I hope so.

Because the second most profitable football program in the country could never afford the statue, and used tax payers money to buy it.

It's about priorities... everyone in the state (both auburn and alabama fans) should do so... alabama's public school system is struggling while the athletic departments remain profitable.
like it or not, it is an indictment of the citizens of this state and their hero worship.

If it were any other school people wouldn't be making such a big deal out of it. This is ridiculous. Just drop it already. Jesus Christ

Maybe so. Regardless, I wasn't for the statue at first, but after hearing Saban and his wife talk about it, and were fine with it, I had no problem.

Intelligent people do not burn the likeness of living football coaches in effigy at their drunken swamp-idiot pep rallies.
Fixed.
Fixed.
