He's trying to stay relevant. Sad. This younger generation won't even know he exists in 2-3 years.

Byes have literally zero to do with Alabama getting in or not, nor does his argument in this video.

Comprehension isn't exactly a strong suit with this bunch.

OP, Greg McElroy is not liked by many Bama fans because he goes out of his way not to root for Bama.....It may just be possible that he doesn't like the playoff system and this has nothing to do with Bama. Stop letting your hate of Bama drive your posts.
I stream his WJOX show with Cublic pretty frequently, and I agree with the part in bold; I'm saying that as a UGA fan.

I generally enjoy both of their insights, but McElroy wasn't the starting QB of Alabama teams that drug their nuts all over Georgia's face the way Alabama did to LSU when McElroy was the signal caller.

The way anyone who has ever worn a Crimson A triggers many of the baws is quite the feat.

He is correct, except with the caveat being the conference champions still get in the playoffs...but not with a bye. Top 4 ranked teams get a bye, and then all other teams are slotted.

I mean...he's right.

The top four seeds, regardless of whether or not they are conference champions, should get first round byes. Then you seed 5-12 accordingly and have them play their way into the quarterfinals.

If I had millions of dollars and was offered millions more to travel to exotic locales with my wife.....count me in. Seems smart to me.

Doesn’t even mention Bama lol

Every time I’ve heard McElroy it seems like he goes out of his way to not talk up Bama. Mostly neutral observer here

I agree. Those so "eaten" should petition Chicken to create, or maybe or re-name this board to something like I HATE BAMA.

At least all ( some) of the cowardly bullies would be out of the closet ( sort of ) and rejoice in spirited camaraderie openly.

Seeding has nothing to do with Bama. Compare these two lists of teams

Georgia
Boise St
Penn St
Notre Dame
Indiana
SMU

Oregon
Arizone State
Texas
Ohio St
Tenn
Clemson

There is no question which slate you would rather not play.

It should absolutely be seeded 1-12

The automatic bye shite is dumb. It would be easier for everyone to follow too, more casual friendly.

Yes and auto byes need to go unless you are a 1-4 seed with no auto bye for conf champ. We’ve got two teams in this thing who were outside the top 15 with last week to go but won their conf champ game. Meanwhile TN, Ohio State, Texas are all either hosting or first week playing. You are granting teams outside the top 12 playoff spots when teams inside the top 12 who have actually played their way into that position. The sec can’t break away from this nonsense soon enough. Grab the big ten cull the weak teams side the two conferences and do your own thing. Let it be an NFl developmental league and screw the academic portion.

Then we can have the Athens Bulldogs, Tuscaloosa Tide, and Fayetteville Razorbacks who can pay the universities to use the on campus stadium and training facilities.

I don't want NFL Jr, and CFB is already too close to being that.

Correct and those funds can be used to assist college baseball and basketball where NiL is actually working like it is supposed to and keeping kids in the game longer rather than some kid getting drafted and starving to death on a single A ball club
