The way they stacked talent was why we have many of our rules today.

The whole partial qualifier thing opened up tons of doors

It was a phenomenal offense, but LSU's offense actually averaged slightly more points per game.

What?

Alabama averaged 48.5 points in 2020 and LSU averaged 47.2 points in 2019.?

Those numbers are off. Bama had four defensive TDs and a special teams TD included in that average. LSU had a couple of special teams TDs and a safety, but no defensive TDs. It was close, but LSU's offense averaged more points per game than Bama's offense. LSU's offense averaged 47.3 ppg and Bama's offense averaged 45.7 ppg (though points are points regardless of how you score them).

I see your point, but if I wanted to really dive into the stats I could highlight LSU having 3 single digit wins forced their starters to play more snaps whereas Alabama was able to call off the dogs therefore limiting their scoring opportunities.

ETA: It's basically what Lunatik said. Given time, one could make the stats work to their advantage for both teams.

Wade, what's going on here? What kind of bump is this?

Y’all push the “Greatest CFB team of all time” thing so much

WOW. I can't imagine the level of willful blindness and lack of self-reflection it takes for an LSU fan to type this. You do the same nonsense with players too. Every year, LSU fans have a player do well and he is the next greatest ever. Burrow, Chase, Stingley, Boutte, Max Johnson; I have heard how each one of these guys is the greatest SEC player or is going to be. It's actually pretty sad that you know so little about the game.

Who is the GOAT? and it doesn't matter.

That said, '95 was the most dominant championship team over the course of its schedule I have ever seen.

I don’t know if LSU is the GOAT but they had the most accomplished season of all time.

He's still trying to get over 2019, and it's hilarious to witness.

2020 Alabama is not qualified to be in that convo. No asterisks allowed.

Not sure about that 11 SEC wins is a pretty cool accomplishment.

Also, 2019 LSU almost lost to Auburn, if only we had a better O.

Arguments comparing teams of different eras is all kinds of dumb. Sure modern players and offenses are superior, duh. The most dominate team of my lifetime has clearly been the 95 Huskers. Note I hate those frickers with a passion. Grew up in Missouri an hour from Omaha and had to watch their TV stations and shite while I was growing up. But damn that team was off the chart dominate.

Teams decimated by covid. Three week layoffs. Not a packed stadium in a hostile environment. No SEC defenses in the top 40. They added Kentucky and Missouri. Really quality stuff.
