I don't doubt that if the teams had a mutual bye this thing would have just been played then. The only other game that was in a comparable position was the ucf game, and they pushed this out into November. Using Miami and Tampa as barometers is ignorant. I also don't think you can really compare NC and SC since the storm wasn't going to remain a CAT4 once it hit those areas.

I don't fault Foley for not giving up a home game, but I think they should have just pushed for Monday contingent on the level of damage. I can understand why that's inconvenient for both teams and why he might not have wanted to do that, but you can't just not play the game. Maybe UF felt LSU should give up their Nov 19th game and dug their heels in the sand, but I can understand LSU's position to not do that.

I chalk this up to Foley being stubborn and maybe pushing his weight around to push this game to November. I think that's why we are where we are at.

Even more reason for your AD to come up with Plans B and C on Mon...which is when the meterologists were predicting a Cat 4/5 storm to track the FL east coast.

Instead, he insisted on a Sat 11 AM kick and dug in until Thurs.

f you reschedule the game for Sunday or Monday PRIOR to the hurricane mind you, how bad/stupid would you look if the hurricane actually tracked west and the east coast got decimated with significant loss of life

We'd been in exactly the same situation we are in now

Well they were fortunate enough the share a bye week with their opponent. LSU and Florida do not have that luxury. Anything else?

I've already gave you a solution. I heard LSU was given several options as well but your bitch arse AD backed out.

Ya'll thought ya'll could weasel in another game in your shithole city. Fukk that.

Seriously, is this a Jr. high kid or what?

It's just so simple. They could have easily played today or tomorrow with a plan in place. They just can't admit it and are hiding behind "safety." No excuse for a plan that made safety a priority while playing the game this weekend if the storm allowed.

You are a coward avoiding the question. This game could have been played just like you hosted recruits, other games were played, and other university of forfeit teams traveled to play games. You are a fraud

Because he was afraid to play 3-2 LSU with their star RB out and 1/2 their offensive line, with new coaches. Yep, that's the reason he would cancel a game that brings in millions of dollars to UF's athletic department. Orgeron made his arse quit.

Nice to see that there are a FEW reasonable UF fans out there. I agree completely with your post.

Stop spreading garbage. Where the hell are you getting Foley doing any of this? Do you have a link for any of this? You must think Foley controls the weather too.

Why didn't UCF play on Sunday or Monday???? Where's the great outrage for them postponing their game? Oh, I forgot, you're the same dumbasses that were mad when LSU postponed North Texas???

In both cases, the decisions were made early and there were common open dates. Bet that's hard for you to comprehend.

Reasonable post. The only problem is that Alleva said in his interview on Friday that the Nov. 19th date was never discussed prior to the "postponement" of the game.

"Safety"

"Come together as a SEC family"

"This game needs to get played"

All BS talking points by Stankey probably given to him by foley, attorneys and a speech coach to deflect the real issue of them either being incompetent or colluding to their benefit.

You are the one that needs a freaking map.

Hermine's path was from the gulf to the atlantic. Gainesville was on the east (dirty) side of the storm while it crossed the state. Gainesville is on the east side of the Gulf.

Matthew, again, was always projected to simply graze the east coast of Florida. Gainesville is WEST of the atlantic coast. The west side of every hurricane is the weak side. Gainsville, for the 100th time, was never going to get anything but mid-range Tropical Storm conditions, At most, if it followed it's projected path.

Matthew, as most storms do, shifted east of it's projected path and Gainesville got barely any affects.

So take your voodoo BS and throw it to the other fools that don't understand hurricanes, not my way, son.

that seems completely reasonable and fair, doesn't it?

I don't mean to attack your post or anything because it refreshing not to see people flame one way or the other.

No, I think the rest of the SEC should have to work around LSU and their shitty non-conference game. Hell... let's go ahead and push back the SECCG so you can play South Alabama. In fact, let's see if the other P5 conferences will also push their conference championship games back also.

Well, then get ready to cancel your Thanksgiving Day plans in College Station. See you on Saturday, a-hole.
