That's a completely different situation. The game was delayed and then started and then stopped for good. That same thing happened at the LSU-McNeese game last year.
We'er talking here simply about having a contingency plan for playing the game on Sunday or Monday - subject to cancellation. Stay on topic.

I wasn't involved in the decision I don't need to address it. Saying the Gators ducked this game to get healthy is speculation. Don't know and I don't have to answer for it. I've already conceded UF could have agreed to play Monday on a contingent basis.
Saying Gainesville didnt need to account for the storm because it's not right on the coast isn't speculation, it's just flat out ignorance. That's all I was saying.

I gave my hunch several posts ago on this thread.
To recap I think Foley is arrogant and stubborn and refused to play anywhere but Gainesville. Idk why he didn't offer Sunday or Monday. Maybe he thought they'd sell less hot dogs on those days and taking the insurance claim for lost revenue was a better option money wise. Magbe he thought he'd get LSU to agree to Nov 19th. Maybe he's a prick who thought Florida should be accommodated because they were the ones potentially losing revenue on a natural disaster and he didn't want to be flexible or make concession. No idea what the thinking was.
But do I think this is a calculated move to backdoor into the SECG? No. Do I think this game gets played this weekend if we had beaten UTk? No. Do I think they wanted to play LSU later when they were healthier? No. you guys potentially get healthier too and one of the best RBs in the country might play in the game.
I pin this more on arrogance and entitlement than I do being underhanded or calculating. But that's just my opinion.

How would the Gumps feel about a team that was banged up not wanting to play? How about a city hat had 80000 hrs flooded recently and they lose revenue that they are depending on to help boost the economy is gone? This is roughly 6-9 Million yo the local economy not counting the losses to the university.
Well play if the SEC ponies up the 15MM and moves the fancies back to the Saturday after Thanksgiving OR move the UF vs UGA game. That's the only 2 options that could possibly be beneficial to us and not the fricking community gay had ZERO DAMAGE. While they STULL SENT THEIR ATHLETES ALL OVER THE COUNTRY THIS PAST WEEKENED! Screw them and y'all!

Fact: In 2005, Skip Bertman failed to have a contingency plan acceptable to all parties in place for the LSU-UT game. He insisted on Sunday, which Tennessee refused. Slive mandated that the game be played on Monday.
