You have a solid team, but dont be an ignorant dick.

How am I ignorant? What I have I said that is factually incorrect? How am I a dick?

quote:

Look at the last 20 games and the SOS & RPI is much better.

Again, typical bammer logic...the committee looks at the WHOLE SEASON. You don't get to pick and choose the last 4 or 9 or 17 or 20 games. It's based on the whole body of work. Your RPI and SOS is atrocious.

quote:

Also, this is a different team now compared to beginning of year

Once again, the games at the beginning of the year count just as much as today's counted. Did you forget we were without our best player (Thompkins) for about a month? We played Notre Dame in Trey's first game back from an ankle sprain and took them to double overtime. It still counts as a loss though.

You are claiming a team isn't more worthy than your team of making the NCAA tourney, yet that very team beat you two times in the span of 7 days.

quote:

Your RPI and SOS is atrocious

And yet we beat you twice in 7 days. What does that say about your team? What does that say about how meaningful your RPI is?

they're not.

what did they do the other 130+ days of the season? Why are you only picking and choosing 7 particular days? They all count the same.

It is what it is, it doesn't lie. It says we played some great teams and took them down to the wire, we beat some pretty darn good teams, had no bad losses, we never got blown out, and we had a solid year. Bama on the other hand didn't play many great teams, had some BAD losses, got blown out of the water a few times, and has the same good wins we do.

So why should you get in over us?

Head. To. Head.

(fwiw, I think both deserve in, but you got so defensive about things I had to have a little fun with it)

Colorado is 3-0 against Kansas State this season. I suppose CU is a stone cold lock and KSU has no business even thinking they have a chance to make the tourney.

Why don't you damn gumps understand that a season is 4 MONTHS LONG!?!? By your logic, bama doesn't have a shot since yall lost the head to head this year with florida. Florida's in, bama's out. You're done.

easier to do when comparing bubble teams though and the games were played recently

Thank you. Bring logic into this equation. Again, I usually like WG_Dawg and I think the loss today being so fresh is a factor, but he's just not seeing that we are comparing Apples to Apples (Bama to UGA), not Apples to Oranges (Bama to Florida, or Colorado to KSU).

KSU & UF are LOCKS. They are playing for seeding. Bama & UGA are playing for entry.

Alright got13, let's compare apples to apples then. What does bama have over Georgia? They have 1 thing and 1 thing only, a 2-0 head to record against Georgia. Their conference record is better but that's essentially wiped out by playing in the terrible west. Their SOS is much, MUCH worse than Georgia's. Their RPI is far worse as well. They have several BAD losses, whereas UGA has none. Georgia's worse loss is to bama, the team they're competing on the bubble against. What are bama's good wins? @UT, UK, and UGA. What are UGA's good wins? @UT, UK, CU, and UAB.

So to review, we have no bad losses, several close losses against top 20 teams, a top 40 RPI, and top 40 SOS. Plain and simple, we have a much better resume than bama. All they have is that they've beaten us twice.

If you are gonna count close losses we would be 15-1 in sec play and winners of 21 out of 22. We had arkansas and ole miss and let them slip away and we all know about vandy. Florida was obviously a blow out. IMO you can't count close losses

NW lost on the last shot in OT to THE Ohio State today.
UNC was trailing the ENTIRE game and won vs Miami the U,
on the last shot.

Bama record against the East (including today) 5-2
UGA record against the East: 4-6

It's not me, it's the committee. They look at that stuff. And if you really wanted to get technical, we "could've" beaten Temple, Notre Dame, Florida, Tennessee, Vandy, Bama, Kentucky, Xavier...hell pretty much every loss we have we "could've" won.

Well damn how many bubble teams can say that? Not being argumentative but I doubt the committee will say "damn, Bama barely Vandy their in" tons of teams lose close games. That's part of the game. I think you are stretching there

Hey WG Dawg, you're quite impressive. Take a page out of Dave's book and learn some manners.
Oh and good luck with that dream team of yours this fall. I'm sure that after they lose a couple of games, you'll think they're still worthy of playing for the BCS championship.

Believe it or not the committee is also instructed to look at "how teams finish the season: and I believe "last 10 games" as well is talking point just like RPI.

For the record, I think Bama and UGA should probably both be in over, say, BC or a Michigan St team that's beaten no one decent for months but there's no way UGA goes over Bama due to the 2 head to head losses in the last 3 games so UGA fans better pray Bama climbs up the curve quickly.

It's common knowledge that the team's most recent games are given more weight than games in November and December. Punks like you are the reason it's so much fun to beat UGA in almost everything we do.

Your school is a perennial national champion in the sport of "underachieving."
