The guy is clearly a fine recruiter and a good defensive coordinator.

However, let's look at his big game c.v.

He won the BCS title in 2003 but (and sorry LSU fans) but he played and beat in a close game an OU squad that lost its conference title game in a blowout to K State. USC was sitting there with the same record as LSU with a conference title to their credit. The voters agreed and split the title that year.

In 2008 Saban lost the sec title game and then lays an egg against Utah.

In 2009 BAMA won it all, BUT the best player on the field for Texas got hurt on the first series and Garrett effin Gilbert almost led a comeback for Texas.

In 2010, BAMA had auburn in BDS with everything going their way including the worst celebration penalty I've ever seen called on Fairley. They take a 24-0 lead and then Saban proceeds to get debaclepwnd by Chizik.

Last night Saban once again gets pantsed in national TV by Les.

So, I ask you, what is the big deal about Saban? He seems to do less with more than any coach in the country.

Can't stand him but two NC's are hard to come by. The only coach to ever do so.

Even coming off a NC, Au still won't have back to back 10 win seasons. Only once in 119 yrs.

Meanwhile, Bama will be having it's fourth consecutive double digit win season.

Even "Bear" Bryant himself couldn't win it every year. Just because Saban has probably failed to win a national title for the second year in a row doesn't mean that he is a failure as a coach. Alabama - barring a major meltdown - will once again have a 10+ win season and a Top 5 finish. Is it what Alabama fans were expecting? No. We were expecting a national championship. Though I suppose that's not too bad because we seem to expect one every year.

Alabama fans are happy so long as we are competing for championships. Even with the LSU loss, Alabama is still very much in the SEC and national title hunt. A few things just need to fall our way here and there. While those scenarios are very unlikely to occur, they still are not beyond the realm of possibility. Remember 2007...that's all I've got to say. Wild and crazy shite can happen on any given weekend. That's the beauty of college football.

No we wouldn't. But a ton of LSU fans would have before this season.

Nice to see you guys finally give your head coach a chance without slamming him at every opportunity. Les is one of the best out there right now.
