Oh so now we’re comparing professional ball to college? Ok, that makes sense.

Well for starters the outdoors. The west revolves around the outdoors. What’s the biggest college football stadium outside of USC west of Texas, Kansas, and the Dakotas?

Yes the outdoors are great on Friday nights and there are no outdoors in the southeast at all. We only have indoors.

I'm sorry, you said nobody out west wants to sit and watch a 3 hour baseball game because the West has more to offer than 3 hour baseball games. So what you meant was nobody wants to sit and watch a 3 hour COLLEGE baseball game?

Come out west and you’ll see empty baseball stadiums all over because the west has more to offer outside of sitting for 3 hours watching baseball

You said it. It was a stupid comment, similar to PAC fans defending their shitty conference championship attendance. Defend it.

Plenty to do at night out west. Put it this way, people here don’t necessarily follow college sports for one. Again, this is because there is only so many hobbies one can fit into an annual schedule. Mountaineering, skiing, climbing, hiking, camping, backpacking, over landing, etc is a lot to squeeze in a baseball game. When focus isn’t on something in particular, it kind of goes to the back burner even on cold Friday evenings. College baseball just isn’t an attractive past time.

Except that outdoor recreation is cultural in the west, while college sports fandom is cultural in the south. Your vision of “outdoors” is hunting and fishing.

I mean, if I knew you would be so dense and not comprehend what I was saying, I should have said “college baseball” for the more than first time in my post.

In the Southeast, we do everything outdoors that you do in the West and then some. We mountain bike, hike, road bike, plus fish and hunt. We have the Appalachian Trail in the South. We have the best beaches. I could go on.

No, what you said and what you meant was that there are more things to do in the West than watch baseball. You said it pretentiously and thought you had a real zinger. Your “oh shite” crawfish happened when SOG reminded you of the sold out MLB stadiums.

We average 2000+ for Utah games. We suck but we play here though.

A whole lot of assuming and projecting there. Perhaps do a better job of laying out your argument next time.

Your argument was very clear - we don't care about boring baseball here because we have mountains and rivers and oceans.

Except lots of people out West absolutely love baseball, which is evidenced by the support and attendance for MLB up and down the West Coast as well as participation and turn out for amateur baseball in large swaths of Southern California, Utah, Nevada and Arizona.

Just admit that SEC baseball is a whole different level and brand than any other conference and move on.

Or let's all acknowledge the obvious here. No need to waste any more calories.

PNW, you sound like a miserable, what about, piece of shite. I would definitely avoid hanging out with you, and I'd hang out with most who aren't violent felons.

I'd not hang out with any MSU fans/alums right now. You all can frick off.

I’ll bet you enjoy those “bath houses” as well.

We support our teams and since you don’t do sports why don’t you go to the west coast board and team up with your own kind.

“I really hate the ole crowds argument. In my opinion, massive college baseball stadiums are generally associated with colleges in states or towns with shite to do.

Come out west and you’ll see empty baseball stadiums all over because the west has more to offer outside of sitting for 3 hours watching baseball. “

The good ole there is more to do out West than go to a college baseball game quote. What a load of malarkey. The truth is most people out West are lazy, lackadaisical and just plain pathetic when it comes to supporting college sports (baseball in particular). It has nothing to do with other entertainment options. All the schools that support College baseball have plenty of other entertainment options. But people choose to support college baseball. Simple as that.
