I'm not related to you. However you are literally the only keyboard warrior that I would beat that arse for free.
First you shite on volunteers and now you are offering free arse whippings.
You are proving everything that has been posted about you true.
Most everyone who posts a lot says something stupid on occasion. The best thing usually is to a) ignore it and let it slide off the first page or b) say “i wuz wrong on that”. A third option is to double down like you are.

No, I'm gonna give him a little slack here.
Not everyone we think of as "Cajun Navy", is actually in that group. The phrase is a catch-all.
And some of the guys in a particular group, I think maybe the ones who licensed the name, have been attention whores who profit off the general good will that the rescue efforts generate. There's been several threads in the OT in the past discussing that.
I believe that's what he was referring to. People do great things, but research the groups before you donate to one. The last thing anyone wants is to pay a scumbag who piggybacks off the real good guys

Thinking about those young girls really gets a grown man tearing up a bit.
You know they were all giggly and excited to go to Camp Mystic.
I think about the moment they were packing their bags to go off on an exciting adventure. It's Summer and they were young and full of life/wonder.
This world can be a tragic place bro.

Yes, they are forever etched into my memory for their Hurricane Harvey Houston-area boat rescues. To hear of them helping in Central Texas now is amazing

Seems like we've been living a similar couple of days brother.
And to be honest I've been asking how does God allow that to happen to a bunch of 8-9 year old girls.
Found out at mass yesterday that one of them goes to our parish. Rough few days.

Updated death toll at 110+, with over 170 missing.
Probably many more than that as numerous RV camps were completely washed away, with no clear record of the number of campers.
Surly Horns has been a sad place since early Friday morning, with damn near everybody having some connection to those hit the hardest, particularly the friends and families of the young kids. A lot of posters went to those camps as kids, and their kids and grandkids have gone as well.
July 4 will never be the same for so many. So sad.

I read through the bios of the girls still missing and had to quit. I couldn’t see very well even if I wanted to keep reading.

My daughter was there at Mystic for 5 years. My wife was a camp nurse during the same period. The Eastland family are lovely folks; Dick was wonderful. The loss is incalculable to say the least. It’s the topic of conversation all day. Every day. Mystic is a magical place that cannot be replaced or replicated.

I can not imagine what the parents and family are going through.

They are the most efficient way to spend a donation dollar. They do more with less. Their selfless service is under appreciated.

This thread made me go read more of the stories. It is just so heartbreaking.

I was out on vacation in Alabama and got back yesterday late afternoon.
The uptick in the local reporting diving in to the heartache statewide…. It is just gutting.
Thank you to anyone helping in whatever way they choose to.
