UGA can beat Clemson. The UGA defensive front is loaded and will be a huge mismatch for Clemson. That Clemson offensive line is not good.

Yes they can beat Clemson. The reason I personally don't pick UGA isn't their potential or talent. The reason is I just don't believe they'll get it done. Until they finally do, I will never be a believer.

It should be a cfp elimination game, esp for Clemson, considering the rest of their schedule.

Have you seen ours? It's not exactly intimidating. However, whoever loses this game will still make the playoffs if they can manage to win their conference championship game. It's either that or a PAC 12 team.

IMO whoever doesn’t win that game has to win out or they’re out. As u said dog, the remaining schedule won’t tolerate another loss. UGA should prep all offseason for that one game like OSU. “Beat Climpson or Die”, should be the motto.

I agree with this. Both teams have a very soft schedule, as a whole. Lose that game and there is no room for error.

The Conference Championship game will probably determine both teams fate no matter what happens in the first game.

UGA has too much defensive mind power on that staff not to confuse the hell out of Clemson's new QB and wins by 10.

Clemson over Georgia. Georgia is almost brand new in the secondary and struggled to run the ball against some good but not elite defensive fronts last season.

So did Clemson. Last year both teams had 2 games where they didn't rush for over 50 yards. But guess what, both UGA and Clemson had over 400 yards passing in those games. The offense adjusted. As for the secondary the next man up played pretty good in the bowl game with all the starters out. They held a high scoring Cincinnati team to 5.6 yards per pass. So you logic is pure arse. Georgia is loaded going into 2021.

Georgia
vs Miss State 8 total yards .03 ypc
vs Cincinnati 45 total yards 1.9 ypc

Clemson
vs Notre Dame 34 total yards 1.0 ypc
vs Ohio State 44 total yards 2.0 ypc

I still find this stat line hilarious given Georgia’s historical commitment to the run.

Because Cincy and Mississippi State are the equivalent of Clemson and Ohio State.

Can any UGA poster not take things so personally? I just said the secondary is new and inexperienced. Which is true, you lost 2 starters in Campbell and Stephenson after the game and had 3 other DBs with experience go pro.

Cincy also averaged 220 yards passing and 2 TDs passing a game — UGA gave up 200 yards passing and 2 TDs passing. Pretty much even, so your point makes 0 sense. UGA won the game off of their vastly superior talent in the trenches, not bc of the secondary.

Anyone equating last year’s totals to next year is an idiot. Those games were only useful for reps and experience. Except if you’re Florida and went on a 3 game losing streak with everything to play for but capped by someone throwing a shoe.

Your UGA buddy posted last year’s running game stats — not me.

Check the user name bro, I hope we implode and get rid of Mullen. Let the shoes fly. Funny how posters just go for the low hanging fruit of insults and don’t actually objectively cover the facts of the game

Bama will RUTS Miami, with or without King.

LSU will do the same to UCLA.

Clemson/UGa will be a matchup of two top 4 teams. It’s a toss up. Clemson loses TL, ETN, and Amari Rodgers. Other than that, they return everyone on offense. DJU will not be that much kf a drop off from TL talent wise. But he lacks the experience that TL had to completely manage a game. ETN, even though he didn’t have a great senior season, will be a big loss as they have no one else on their roster that talented at the RB position. WR position gets a tremendous boost with Justyn Ross, who missed all of last year, coming back. He was a stud his freshman and soph years. They also get back another 5 star, Joseph Ngata, who missed every game last year but 2 due to injuries. He was apparently expected to be Clemson’s breakout star last year before injuries derailed him. TL was really limited by Clemson’s depleted WR Corp last year that was hit hard by injuries. DJU and the 2021 offense will be much better with these guys in the fold.

Defense - every starter returns next season. Plus they get back the two DE who SHOUlD have been the starters last season but basically missed the season due to CV. In all, 22 different players started a game for them last season due to injuries, CoVid and whatever other reason. These 22 all return. Plus, they had a great recruiting class. Their defense will be experienced and maybe where there was a drop off in talent (secondary), they may be able to plug and play one or two of their 5 star players.

UGa - everyone knows how “talented” they are. Recruiting champion or runner up the last 4 years. Lots of players returning.

This game is essentially a CFP semi final game. Will be decided by turnovers IMO.
