Dan Mullen has back to back NY6 bowl wins in his first 2 years at Florida. Only coach to win 2 their first 2 years with a team in FBS history.

Took over a team that went 4-8 and had some talent but also still had roster issues. Made good use of the portal and brought in some key diiference makers. Got players to buy in and found ways to win games where we didn't play elite but got it done.

Quality hire and we miss him. As much as people talk shite about him he is solid as a coach.

OT as far as Florida goes but why call it the NY6 when half the games are played before the new year

Yes, calling it the NY6 since 2014 is my favorite tradition.

He has done a great job at Florida. His decision making drives you crazy at times but he is a good coach. For the most part, he seems to get the most out of his players and adapts to what he has to work with. Trask's development has been impressive this season.

I think Florida would benefit tremendously with a couple changes on the current staff. An 11 win season is always a very good season. Congrats and best of luck till next year.

Possibly, then again if it aint broke... I think same system\coaches but with upgraded talent is what they are working towards.

There is no doubt that Mullen is a very good coach. I expected Florida to steamroll Virginia and they didn't. That's the thing with Mullen. His teams are inconsistent. They can play lights out or like someone turned out the lights.

The Gators will win an SEC East title soon. The East is a two program division right now and Pruitt has a ways to go in rebuilding the Vols. Beating Kirby shouldn't be that difficult.

So...when Georgia wins the east three straight years (something that hadn't been done since 1996) it's because the east is weak. But when Florida finishes second two straight years under Mullen, it's because he's some fantastic coach.
People love to talk about Kirby mishandling Justin Fields, but Mullen was playing that trashy Franks while a much better quarterback sat on the bench!!! Talk about misjudging talent! It's only an injury that saved Florida's season.
Mullen has his upside, and he's turned that program around quickly, but let's not crown him the new Steve Spurrier just yet. He can't beat Georgia, he just beat a hapless ACC team, and he hasn't won anything of significance yet as a head coach.
