you got it out DDawg, feels good, huh? SC is espn's and the general media's darling every year with OSU a close second, that is until another team comes along and bitchslaps them, then the commentators are forced to do the unthinkable, hype someone else.

Tru dat!!! However I will say they cream their pants over Tebow and LSU has been up there since they're the "Katrina team" which really NEVER gets old

well, here is the response from one of the Georgia blogs. I must say i agree with this 100%.

quote:

I think it's time to let this thing go. In fact, I think it's time to let the whole "ESPN hates us" thing go, too. It's just not worth the effort and it adds to our nacent, national reputation as whiners instead of winners.

quote:

Every school thinks ESPN is out to get them. This is because ESPN can only have one lead highlight. It can only go one place per weekend. No matter what it does, it's going to make people angry. ESPN isn't out to get us or anyone else. They are interested in only one thing: making money by showing the games and debating the sports topics people find compelling. Georgia and Central Michigan is not compelling to anyone outside of Georgia and Michigan. If Knowshon does that against Florida or LSU, it will be the lead highlight on Sportcenter for a week.

SouthernDawg, whining is what LSU fans along with Saban did when he started crying about where the SEC championship game is. I mean, it's been in Atlanta since '92 when we expanded to 12 teams and NO ONE has ever had a problem with it before. But of course when LSU starts making the trip, then it becomes a problem.

That's whining. Pointing out the obvious with ESPN and the voters is just plain observant

georgia is just doing what lsu wants to do themselves. they are sick of seeing publicity on only usc, ohio st., notre dame, etc... In fighting for a nc game berth, you need the voters to see you play, and thats what richt wants. man, frick that guy for doing what he needs to do to get in the national chapiionship

That was the saddest story I have ever heard. Surely nothing this unfair has ever happened to any college program.

You think they're whining now? Wait until the end of this season. When they lose 3 games this season, shite is really gonna hit the fan. I can't wait. It will be hilarious.

That is called an internal meltdown with no one to blame but themselves.

Look, it was a great play (I still think KW's was better as a whole, although this was a higher leap.) and I agree that in today's football climate, coaches do need PR to help themselves w/ the voters. But Georgia has a hell of a schedule this year. They will be game of the week, what 3-4 times if they keep winning. Whining about 1 play does not help them w/ the voters even if it winds up as a repeat of last year.
Y'all NEED to beat the snot out of Az St, then maybe y'all can aford a loss or two depending on the season.

Of course this is all moot, y'all will have at least 2 losses this year (LSU, and LSU)

And their internet boards ... what about them?

you are talking about uga whining and then over on the tiger rant, someone mentions the future lsu-uga game not getting enough coverage as the usc-osu game. dont bitch about whining for media coverage and then just go and bitch yourselves

"I never realized UGA fans were such cry babies. Is this new under Richt? I don't remember the crying and chest bumping as much as I see now. Do they think they are the new "U"?"

I have lived here since 1987. They have always been this way.

Good God man, you UGas still don't get it. Bitching and moaning about a lack of highlight coverage of your team does not win an NC. However, winning all or most of your games and actualy winning a conference division and championship will get you much, much further towards that goal. Notre Dame and Alabama wouldn't suck as bad as they do right now if media coverage wins championships.

its not like media coverage wins nc obviously. but you need it to win. if three teams end up with two losses, usc, uga, and oklahoma and they all win their conferences but uga never got watched by anyone, then the other teams get in. richt is doing fine, ppl are taking what he's doing to a level it's not at

Jim Rome just sounded off on Mark Richt, saying he's shameless hyping Knowshon for the Heismann and complaining how he's getting lack of coverage. He then said," we don't tell you how to do your job coach, so don't tell us how to do ours" furthermore saying, the leap over a marginally talented C Mich player wasn't worthy of being in the top 10. crazy mutha :lol

Not to hijack this thread, but Bama has them beat in this regard. And the gap is widening.

Like most GA fans you heard what you wanted to. What he said was something like...Being the media tells the coaches how to do their job than I only think that it is fair that Richt tells the media how to do theirs
