I tried to come up with what "elite" means. Read in a couple of threads on here we haven't played any "elite" teams.
I was trying to figure out what "elite" teams Bama, LSU and A&M have beaten since their fans were the ones saying it.

Looks like there was only one team that deserved to be on the same field as Georgia last season. 
Sadly for us, I don’t see Ohio State at that level this year despite the defensive improvements.

Take a good long look. It’s not often you see a 2 time back to back National Champion. Especially one that is currently undefeated

They know it won’t last so they are celebrating while they can. But honestly I don’t blame them. Look at all the “dynasty’s” from the past they all flame out at some point. Get it while you can Georgia

Well Tech was actually a back to back to back national champ in the 70’s. It was DII but my point stands. “Dynastys” are short lived. So celebrate when you can.

For the record I asked two or three of those fans who were the elite teams. They did not offer a response, nor did anyone else. Figured I'd try and see if anyone else knew the elite teams in college football right now and particularly the elite teams others in the SEC have beaten that Georgia has dodged. "Crickets"
It reminds me when B1G fans and fans of other P5 conferences complained about SEC teams ranked highly in the polls and asking them who should be ranked ahead of them. Usually no response.
