Those Savannah townhouses are gorgeous but I’d buy a big house on one of the islands. Probably Jekyll Island as it is incredibly beautiful and so far not overdeveloped.

My dad said frick it and got a live-aboard 50+ft sailboat moored behind Wilmington Island. Gets an AirBnB intown if he wants a night out in case he doesn't go home with a broad.

WRONG!

Get out of the historic district and that is the most ghetto city you can find.

I agree but it’s Georgia, that historic district is the only place in the entire state worth visiting

Savannah is known for their ghosts. Stayed in one of those historic bed and breakfasts a couple of years ago and there was definitely something going on there after it got dark. One couple went down to the desk in the middle of the night and said they were leaving as something they could see thru was standing in their room staring at them. Didn’t see anything like that but there were a lot of strange sounds and the light from the streetlights on the square that lit up our room kept changing during the night. Strange colors going from bright to dim. The most bizarre thing was we heard low talking coming from the telephone next to our bed and the phone was “on the hook.” It was a weird night

Any town that doesn’t have at least 3 dozen trailer parks, a chewing gum factory, toothless overall dressed inhabitants, a tractor dealership and a dollar store where AU grads can find employment stocking toilet paper on the shelves is alien to AU.Bless their little hearts.

No offense, but we are going to need everyone to stay where they are. Savannah is a hole and you don't want to live there. Ever.

Jekyll is very unique. Gorgeous, unspoiled and beautifully maintained and since the recent makeover of condos, hotels and shopping areas it’s been described as elegant. I can’t disagree. My only fear is that now that it’s getting discovered the state will allow more and more development until it starts looking like Panama City. That should never be allowed to happen. There is only one Jekyll and it should be preserved.

Well Arm I’m sure the people of Savannah will be very happy to learn that you plan to stay away.

Daytime yes, large crowds/events yes (safety in numbers). Outside of that Marta is sketch AF. As is most big city public transit.

Augusta National is just awful.
So is G8 summit host Sea Island.
And people clearly hate living in the seventh largest metropolitan area in the country.
Delta, Coke, Norfolk Southern, UPS, Newell Rubbermaid, GA Pacific, Chick Fil A, AGCO, Equifax, Cox Enterprises, AFLAC, Waffle House, TSYS, Synovus, Turner Networks/CNN, Home Depot, Shaw Industries, The American Cancer Society, NAPA Genuine parts, the CDC, the olympics, he 3rd busiest port in America, the 3rd largest film industry base, and the worlds busiest airport are all in Georgia because it sucks.

Such a senseless accusation all because you can’t bear the thought that Auburn is likely going to lose to UGA again this weekend.
