Your advocacy on the Georgia team board

To be fair, it's an assumption on your part. He never added "than Beck" to it. Kirby is not one to try to cause an internal problem in his own team. I think he's just said the kids try to raise their game because he's a good leader. Kirby defended Carson all year long.

Exactly, no matter how ugly TRant thinks Carson Beck is he's still 6'4" (Enough to make plenty of women act braindead) & he's still the QB Worth millions. He's gonna get grade A pussy whether you like it or not

Within a couple of weeks or so Georgia is going to be wishing that he had stayed.

Kirby thought he was still going pro and was ready to move on after a meh 2024 season. Beck saw an opportunity to at 4 mil and to be with the girl. No hard feelings on either side.

You might technically offer a bit more, but UGA can stay in the ballpark
People will quit a job and take another one for 10k more a year, if miami is going to offer a million more then it’s a no brainer

He didn't name Beck in the quote, but he did say "play harder". Harder than what? When you're talking about QB2 having to come in as a starter following an injury there's only one point of comparison.

Wasn’t he upset with the uga coaching staff about being put back into the sec championship game after he got hurt? I think they tried to act like he was ok so TX would have to prepare for him and Stockton both in the next game.

I've never heard that, if that were the case. Ray Charles could see that they were going to be handing the ball off. It was only punctuated by the fact that Beck's arm was hanging at his side.

That’s a fair point, but given the way the media works Kirby could have said “play hard” and the reported wrote “harder” to stir it up.
Just saying.

Culture. He fits in better at Miami. We have Gunner and he fits in better at UGA, his dream school. Both programs benefitted.
Time to move on.
Time to move on.

But the truth is he left for greener and easier pastures down to South Beach and will never look back at the trailer park infested crap hole known as Athens ever again. Huge loss for Kirby.
you should feel right at home in Athens, then, DiryCheekBottoms

Thanks to everyone for the replies.
Just to clarify, I absolutely was not trolling, I really didn't understand why things went down the way they did.
I do understand that some fans felt Beck was underwhelming at times last year, but from my outside perspective: he was a legit draft prospect, one of the better QBs (physically) in college. His numbers weren't terrible, not like he was a bust or anything. Actually pretty good, 3500 yds, 28 TDs and 12 int.
Georgia being a top 5 team (not a feeder school like App State), seems crazy that a Miami could come pull your starting QB, once he decides he is not going into the draft.
Objectively, UGA with Beck returning healthy, is very likely a strong #1 overall.
So, it appears he was always intending to leave after last year, and both he and the team knew that and planned accordingly. He was going pro until his late injury. At that point, it's a bit iffy, he might have to swallow a lot of what he'd said and done, and UGA would have to push back the planned progression of other guys a year. With Miami stepping up and offering, it appears to have been an easy solution- everyone gets to move on without acrimony.
