Texas has still continued to turn out NFL DBs in the first three rounds consistently, even in the worst decade of our football history. LSU has been even better the last decade. Why would a kid out of Baton Rouge or Beaumont want to go to College Station when he’s sandwhiched by two DB factories? Let’s see how strong those commitments are when LSU & Texas catch up with the NIL bags.

I completely agree A&M hasn’t been known for its secondary since 80’s- early 90’s … but these kids can come in and instantly get playing time in the SEC instead of waiting multiple years, which is a crucial factor.
Our defense has been much improved in recent years and it’s not like Jimbo & Co haven’t developed NFL talent …
The Alabama & LSU thing makes sense, throwing TX into the mix doesn’t. What the frick does the TX of today have to do with developing DBs from last decade?
Current recruits were still in diapers when TX last won a natty and like 6 when they last won the B12. TX doesn’t mean shite to most of these kids anymore than TCU would.

These recruits great grandparents were in diapers the last time A&M won a title.

My point is acting like Texas would have any special sway over recruits because of their history is ridiculous. You’ve had 4 losing seasons in current recruits lifetimes.

Texas has produced 13 NFL DBs in the last 10 years. 6 of them being picked within 3 rounds. Many still on NFL rosters. More than 4 occupy starting roles. LSUs numbers are even more flashy.

And how many of those coaches that developed those players are still working for the program?

Geoff Ketchum...now there's a huckster if there ever was one. Hard to believe that sips are still reading his drivel.

you think a guy dragging his nuts on another guy is fun?

Sounds like you must have had some dominant teams. Let me take a look…

How do you figure? You could probably throw Virginia Tech in that conversation as well.

Von Miller doesn't claim A&M?
Oh the lies people tell.

Texas has a few more DB's in the NFL than A&M but the trajectory and coaching success for A&M is a much better selling tool.
A&M will likely have 3 First Round Draft picks this year, possibly 4 (Leal and Green are locks, Spiller and Wydermeyer are probably the highest rated RB and TE's going into the season). For DB's Jones is a Sophomore but will likely be a high NFL pick and Richardson and O'Neal have a good shot at being drafted. Jimbo had 2 DB's taken in the 1st Round while at FSU and a bunch more drafted.
It's not like A&M is some wasteland for DB talent.

Adrian Phillips has been an All Pro Selection & a Pro Bowler. Diggs was a Pro Bowler and a top 3 saftey in the league last season. I don’t know how they aren’t studs. Kenny is capping off his career, but he’s been a top 10 safety in the league a majority of his career. Brandon Jones & Elliot were pivotal pieces of their team’s defense last season. Josh Thompson & Jamison are two DBs that’ll likely go within the first three rounds in the 2022 draft. Throw BJ Foster in there too if he can stay healthy.

I can’t name an A&M defensive player in the league besides Garrett, especially not a DB.
How about Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller?
Here's the full rundown:

Bills: Tyrel Dodson - LB
Browns: Myles Garrett - DE
Cowboys: Donovan Wilson - S
Broncos: Von Miller - LB
Packers: Kingsley Keke - DT
Colts: Damontre Moore - DE
Chiefs: Armani Watts - S
Rams: Bobby Brown - DT
Steelers: Buddy Johnson - LB
Washington: Deshazor Everett - CB
