This makes perfect sense.

However, Alabama alumni in the SEC office influencing strength of schedule next year is complete horse crap made up by butthurt conspiracy theorists. (and I'm not even one of those who thinks there is an agenda or conspiracy)

Bama logic 101.

Notre Dame is high because it's Notre Dame. They do have a huge following nationwide. I don't think that translates to recruiting the way he thinks it does, but /shrug...

The Aggies are back enough to demonstrate the decline of Texas. This will be the second(?) time in recent memory where they have finished above Texas in the Top 25. The other was 2010. Before then you have to go back to the You have to go back to like the late 90s before then.

Re the ND job, SI ran an article in which it was noted that Kelly finally won over the administration re changes he wanted in the game day atmosphere. He was allowed to bring in piped in music as one example. He was wanting to bring the stadium into this century & it took him 2 yrs to win over all the old foggies in charge. I'm sure its been improved but when I was there in the mid 90's, the stadium still had the old style wooden seats, as in splinters up your butt, crammed in next to each other. No chair backs. And cold as shite. That stadium & its history means more to the locals in Chicago & thruout the NE.

I would like you to prove otherwise. While rankings are pointless with this, as they're subject to the author's views, but every offseason thread on this subject has Alabama among the "prettiest" in the country. That's an opinion held by many observers. It's not an indictment against LSU.

Yeah UF should be ahead of LSU.

UF, Southern Cal, and Texas are the best college jobs in the country IMO. Notre Dame or Alabama at #4 I can see as well. LSU, UGA, tOSU, A&M are probably the 6-9 positions but that's JMO

I keep forgetting that football didn't exist before 2000. Silly Aggies for remembering how we owned the State of Texas from the Mid 80's to the Mid 90's. Beating Texas 10 out of 11. Winning 6 Conference Titles (7 if you count the undefeated probation year), not losing a conference game for 4 years, owning the recruiting landscape completely. No, none of that mattered because all that mattered was the period since then up until this year. A&M can never dominate Texas again.

It's especially important because A&M is foolish enough to think that now that we are bigger than Texas and in a far superior conference we can ever achieve greater things. Aggies are silly enough to think that just because we are destroying them in recruiting we may be able to sustain our success as well. Texas just had their 4th major decommit today while A&M wrapped up the #1 Recruit in Texas for '14 after getting the best offensive and defensive players for '13 in the last week. We need folks like you to help keep us grounded that it all means nothing because the great orange uterus is just too powerful a force to resist.

One thing though. I live in Austin so could you see if the almighty Longhorns can quit filling up my email box from every organization in the city trying to basically give away heavily discounted tickets to try and get some people to show up to their games? It would also be nice if they could stop their 24/7 butthurt about A&M on Austin radio as it is starting to make it hard for me to remember we can never be in their class.

These lists are often very short-sighted and caught up in the moment. They go by who's successful at that certain time. CBS had their list in 2011 of the nation's best coaching jobs and Auburn came in at #9. Now they'd probably have them out of the top 20. A couple of years ago Florida would've been behind only Texas, but now they're behind Michigan, Ohio st., Alabama, and LSU?

Wojciechowski is a moron. I don't know why anyone pays attention to him.

LSU does deserve to be above Florida for numerous reasons:

1.) No competition for recruitment from other in-state schools. Louisiana has a very strong football pool. Florida has FSU and possibly Miami at some point in time again. There are also tons of smaller schools who have jumped into the spotlight every now and then (University of South Florida and University of Central Florda). While the smaller schools definitely aren't on par in football with Florida, they do offer some recruits who might consider getting grey shirted or walking on an option with a scholarship from the start. It matters.

2.) Not a whole lot of competition out of Mississippi. Mississippi produces a lot of football talent. With Southern Miss self-destructing, there hasn't been much stopping LSU from running the table here. Most of the state likes LSU a lot better than they like Alabama. Few people who actually play football have strong ties to Ole Miss or State. Those who have ties to State usually don't hate LSU.

3.) Baton Rouge has a very good location. It's not very far from New Orleans. It's not far from a beach. Louisiana, in general, is a very fun, great state. I would say in terms of location and the actual city, LSU comes out ahead.

Keep the hate burning inside of you little nolie boy. UF isn't sharing talent with anyone this recruiting cycle, we are flat out dominating and taking who we want, when we want them.

where did I say anything about about LSU? it's hilarious that this is the one thing every single one of you brainwashed bammers (most of which have never seen the campus) focus on...our campus is beautiful... seriously, like a coach looks at the campus and says wow this place is gorgeous I would love to coach here...lol

Lord have mercy on the soul that says one thing negative about the great university of alabama...it's so much better than any other campus ever. so beautiful. so pristine...please.

I have been there and it's nice, but it aint nothing special.

I have two degrees from Alabama. The campus was the deciding factor for me, when I was choosing Alabama over Oklahoma and LSU back in 2001.

No one said it was. But the article attached to the reasoning behind this thread brought it up.

No one compared it to any other campus. Yet, you're the one mocking the fact that someone would think it's "pretty". Despite it being a subjective idea, you seem to be up-in-arms about it.

All three schools were about the same everywhere else for my major. I grew up closer to Baton Rouge. But my dad has degrees from Alabama and Oklahoma. In the end, I just fell in love with the campus at Alabama.

The whole point of this entire discussion, throughout the thread, was that the article was mis-informed that Alabama doesn't offer some aesthetic beauty from a campus and stadium stand point.
