Add the 2 passing TDs in the red zone. That is what will win us games.

Maybe the team will play for Jones since he was on this team last year. Kid has been practicing against SEC defenses for 2 years. Glad he got his shot and proved it.

The pocket awareness for Jones was a lot better.

He literally missed several guys running open and even threw a 2 yard shallow route on 3rd n 11

I’m all for whoever starts, but it’s shite like this that drives me crazy.
He had the 2 TD throws and the 4th down play, other than that the rest of his passes were pretty pedestrian short pitch n catch

If you like Jones, just say that, but trying to shite on Philo when his yards per pass is literally more than double and his comp % is better and he has less Ints that are due to bad plays on his part then I’m gonna call you out.
Had a guy say Jones summoned his inner Trask, lmao, wtf what??!!!

If you're going to bring up stats from the cupcake games then your argument is pointless and we don't need to discuss any further.

I'm not going to shite on a guy for making his first start this season which is on the road against the toughest defense in the conference.

I don't like either guy tbh. Both are average. But at least Jones brings some athletic ability to the position that Philo doesn't have. You want to bring up specific plays, how about the last one where Jones operates the RPO and keeps it to get the first down. Can't see Philo doing that.

At the end of the day, we go with the QB who won the game for us. Last time I checked all that matters is who wins the game. Not looking at stats. It's not like Philo is helping us win games. He's just trying really hard not to lose them. But when we do lose, the spotlight is on him. Especially in the way the offense performed in those losses. Can't just blame the OL every time.

Honestly, we need a stud like Trask at QB so we don't have conversations like this.

Not talking about cupcakes, talking about playoff bound Ole Miss from looks of things And Auburn who just beat UGA

In his worst game, he averaged more yards per pass than Jones

Again, ppl can like Jones without making up shite about Philo ..

Yeah, Philo had nothing to do with any or our wins, just had the same number of tds and more yards than Jones .. who you give all credit to for beating Texas ..
You really sound like a clown now

We all wish that, real world we have 2 QBs that are not Kyle Trask and by the coaches comments are very equal. As fans, why don't we let them do their job and put the one that gives us the best chance to win on the field, support their decision without stirring up shite, bashing one or the other and hope like hell that the QB that takes the field plays good enough for the Gators to win.

What a novel idea.

Mizz scored on 8 of 12 possessions

Plenty of blame to go around n the games we lost.
Had Texas ran the same pace after being up 17-3 you’d be singing a different tone

Won against those teams with our run game. Not our pass game.

Last time I checked, TDs won you games. Not yards.

So the QB who got the W with his first start of the season on the road against a top 10 team and I'm supporting him to be QB the rest of the way. But I'm the clown because I'm talking shite about the QB who lost on the road and lost our homecoming game. This is Florida btw. You don't just lose games the way we did and expect fans to support that.

If you're from that Graham Mertz era then we don't need to continue the conversation. You have your way of thinking. I have mine.

And we scored 17 points. 19 against Scar. Great job there Philo. Way to operate the offense to score TDs to help us win the game.

Agreed that the defense performed poorly in those games.

The point I'm making is that the offense needs to be scoring atleast 28-35 points a game for fans to not shite on the QB.

Philo is eerily similar to Kyle Trask, without the size. He’s just in a different offense. This offense needs a DT QB that can throw down field to be optimal based on what I’ve seen.

So you admit that our ability to run the ball has nothing to do with our passing game.
Nice

So the QB who got the W with his first start of the season

You have a fighting chance when the defense doesn’t allow a score 75% of the opponents possessions. Neither of these guys are winning a shootout

This is all I'm saying. Trask was 6 years ago. A lot has changed in the SEC. The days of sitting in the pocket and throwing it are so far gone. D-lines are faster than ever and if defenses don't respect the QB run, they'll collapse the pocket easily which is what we saw at Miz and Scar. They'll target Baugh in the RPO more which makes RPO ineffective. The spurrier days were 30 years ago. Let it go. I'm done with Philo the same way I was done with Graham Mertz in 2024 in our home opener against Miami.

Well no shite. I'm saying teams won't respect the RPO if you're QB isn't actually a running threat. That makes Baugh ineffective. Don't pick and choose narratives like the UAA. You're better than that.

Well I guess the Auburn and Ole Miss game painted a different picture.

Lol he isn't the only one. Almost 18 years since a natty. Let's not make it to 20 and be back to firing and hiring another coach when fans ignore the underlying problem.

Gator legend and certified Dawg Killer Treon Harris was 2-0 as a starter against UGA. In 2014 he went 3-6 passing for 27 yards. In 2015, he went 19-31 with 155 yards. Both Philo and Trammel have the potential to put up those kind of numbers

I agree with you on the defense. As a bunch of us have talked about during the 2 game skid, we need to start/keep bringing pressure. We blitzed 63% of the time against Texas on their dropbacks and it helped our success rate greatly.

Now is it going to work against UGA? Who knows. What's the worst that will happen, we lose? But I think we all know it gives us the best shot at winning.
