you don't burn your ace against the 4 seed if you're hosting... if you can't beat that team with one of your other pitchers then you deserve to go home
now if you're a 2 or 3, use the ace
now if you're a 2 or 3, use the ace

We eat 55% thunderstorms for breakfast. lol.
Don’t know how bad the wind was in Dallas, I know they got hit harder. Dallas is in tornado alley.
But it was only 70 mph in Houston. Houston gets tougher rain storms due to the warm Gulf Coast air.
College Station is USUALLY less severe…and being 90 miles further from the coast means less rain.
I’m just saying I haven’t heard of any concerns yet.

You should play each weekend starting with the SEC tourney like you're in playoff mode, which is the whole purpose of the tournament.

If you are 1 seed, you probably can save your ace if you are playing a 4 seed. If you can’t beat lower level teams in the 4 seed spot without an ace, you probably aren’t going to Omaha anyway. I personally hope we save Hagen smith for game 2. If we lose not using Hagen in game 1 to SEMO, we deserve to be bounced anyway.

It was a major argument/drama last year when LSU pitched Skenes against 4 Tulane last year.
It worked out, but most people at the time disagreed with the decision.
IMO you should not pitch your Ace against the 4seed in regionals.

Damn, my bad. I didn't know you wear a helmet.

I understand the strategy, but you never know what might happen with weather delays etc. so I say pitch your 1 and get the win. If you're cruising, pull him after 5 or 6.

Regardless of who starts, I hope that Aschenbeck doesn't play on Friday.

Looks like Schloss is going with our 3/4 for Grambling. Somewhat bold, but I like it.

Hellll no if you can't beat the 4 seed with your 2 or 3..u got no business in the regional business

Jones has had some pretty good outings against far better competition than Grambling so I'm not opposed. He's probably assuming that the offense will make pitching irrelevant tomorrow.

I like that we're starting Jones.

Hogs going with Molina game 1. Was a Sunday starter for most of year until he began to slump. Then he came out of the pen toward the end where he had good outings. Guess confidence is back up

I was always a big believer in pitch your Saturday guy in game 1 and save your ace. You’re trying to win the Regional not a single game. But after seeing Drew Pomeranz throw two starts in 4 days and strike out about 25 and win Regional MVP around 09 my mind was been changed. Start your Ace game 1 then save your #2 starter for game 3. It also rains so much this time of year at Regionals. You might be able to have your ace again on a Tuesday with 3 full days rest.
