The implication is that LSU made these coaches that produced these titles, and my contention is that Nick Saban built the program.

Why didn't Alabama win any titles with Dubose, Shula, or Franchione? Did he build the Alabama program too? Or is the coach only bigger than the program when it suits your argument?

If LSU made Les Miles a national title winning coach, why did they fire him?

This is a really stupid argument

He was fired after the 99 season.

So I guess you could say Saban won with Dinardo's players.

It was Saban's 4th season.

It's like saying Saban won in 2009 because of Shula, rather than in spite of him because he recruited some of the players on the team.

The mental gymnastics LSU fans will do just to avoid admitting the obvious truth is highly entertaining. You aren't fooling anyone.

So why did they fire Dinardo?

He told you why in the same post. He made a poor DC hire after the 97 season and put his job on the line instead of firing him (Lou Tepper). There was a boatload of talent at LSU when Saban took over which is why he was able to go 8-4 in year 1 and win the SEC and Sugar Bowl in year 2. I take it you're really young given the questions you've been asking. That or you live in a really small bubble.

It's also like, you know, saying Les won with Saban's players.

Because they weren't great coaches and were saddled with sanctions.

Pretty sure Saban's influence on LSU after he left was felt in many more areas than the players on the field. The next Alabama coach will get that same benefit.

If any LSU fans had a real clue, they'd say it started with Emmert, who is the one who hired Saban and got LSU to open up it's wallet to pay for the things that's needed instead of being cheap asses.

So does that make Les Miles a great coach? And Orgeron?

Yes, I can't wait to see the 30-30 on how DiNardo built the LSU program.

You're right, we should listen to an Alabama fan tell us about our own program. I'm sure you're more knowledgeable.

You can at least pretend to accurately depict what's been said. But if you want to continue to dig your heels in like a child, then by all means

I'm just following your own arguing points buddy. You said they couldn't win at Alabama because they weren't great coaches, which implies it takes great coaches to win. Well, Miles and Orgeron both won national titles, so that would make both great coaches no?

OR, is LSU such a better program than Alabama that any idiot can win there?

Like I said, you're backing yourself into a corner.

I promise it doesn't make Saban a worse coach not to give him 100% of the credit for LSU's football program or to say LSU helped his own career immensely

Didn't say you did, but it is, however, pretty clear you want to credit Saban with their success. I don't think you can even try to argue otherwise at this point with the hole you've dug for yourself

And before LSU gave him the chance to be great, what was he doing?

Our last three coaches have won Natties at LSU. How about Gump U?

All I said was Saban turned the LSU program around. You guys want to credit 6 win DiNardo with it because you'll do damn near anything to avoid giving Saban any credit.

Won more than that in the last 10 years alone....

Hell, won more in the last 10 years than LSU has in it's entire history.
