touching the tips of your fingers is not possession/control of the ball
So, again--WHEN did he lose possession? Stop the GIF on the frame you contend that he lost possession. Is such indisputable video evidence?

It's hard to tell exactly where on that gif, but the ball begins tumbling out of his hand prior to the ball crossing the goaline. Again, IMO he's still touching it, but he's no longer controlling it.
The speed of this gif may be deceiving; seemed to me both the full speed and slowed speed replays during the game more clearly showed a loss of control.
A different angle at full speed may help, but again, is that indisputable video evidence to overturn the TD called on the field?

I sure did not want it to be, but it was a fumble and a touchback.

WHEN did he lose possession?
Prior to the ball breaking the plane.

Without a doubt, he dropped the ball, but when and is that indisputable video evidence?
Luckily there were more camera shots than the one posted that assured us that it was indeed a fumble before the ball broke the goal line.

Where? At the 1? How can you say for sure? It looks to me like he has possession in his left hand until the ball hits the pylon. The pylon cannot cause a fumble. That would be a touchdown.

before the goal line and yes
he fumbled the ball so you have to go to the last part where he has complete control, simply having your hand/fingers touching the ball=/=control which is required

So post em - they only showed that replay on the jumbotron.

I wish someone would post them. I will reconsider if you have another angle. That GIF alone does not even come close to indisputable evidence.

But when did it go from possession to merely touching the ball? I can't tell from that GIF. Post another angle if you have it. Also, we can't tell based on that view if he has possession in his left hand.

This is not possessing the ball, knowing that we do that the ball continues to fly forward. Watch the video replay, not still frame pictures and half second gifs. Pull up the reply on youtube or DVR and watch the actual video.

man I'm not about to search for that shite. I couldnt care less either way, but I know what I saw during the broadcast on Saturday, as do the majority of people in this thread.
It was a fumble before it broke the plane. Stevie Wonder could see that.

Exactly, but since a quick google search won't show a still frame photo apparently everyone is wrong.

C'mon, man. That doesn't even come CLOSE to indisputable. Looks to me like he has the nose of it in his left hand, with his gloved thumb over the top. Not indisputable. No cause to overturn. Touchdown.
I said before, I will reconsider if you have another angle, but this GIF is not good enough, and nearly confirms a TD call.

he is not in "control" of the ball at that point. he does not have a grasp of the ball. again just touching=/=control, not sure why this is so difficult

I think you may be blind then.

I don't think it is possible to say for sure, from that picture, that he is not controlling the ball with his left hand.

Okay. Go troll somewhere else. We can't have a discussion without jackass trolls, can we?

we clearly just have a lot of Auburn posters that have never held a football before.
