No "Grade A" coach would/will take the job at Arkansas knowing they would have to compete annually with the the Miles, Saban's & Chizit's in their own Division.

They will get a "Grade B" coach and then try to convince everybody he or she was Grade A. Just wait and watch.

The Crow has made the call on this one in advance.

Much can be gleaned from what someone writes and I can tell a great deal about you based on your loser’s mentality posts.

1. You are a loser in life’s lottery and are afraid to compete at anything. People with winning attitudes love nothing more than to compete at the highest level and, unlike you, aren’t afraid of doing so.

2. You never played or coached at the college level and more than likely you greatest athletic feat is being allowed to wash the jocks of the high school athletes you idolize. It’s what losers like you do.

3. Cowpie, much to your chagrin, Arkansas will hire a great coach and they will be one of the top 10 paid coaches in college football. Additionally, the new coach will have facilities that are second to none to work with and will live in a beautiful area of the United States that is a great, great place to raise a family.

Hog futures have never been higher.

It amazing John Chavis name always gets brought up. As position coach in the NFL or as a head coach. I thought Chavis made it pretty clear he didn't want the headache of being a head coach. Didn't want to hit the banquet tours and hob nob with the alumni. Unless I miss my guess Chavis will retire as DC in Baton Rouge. Never have to leave the state to get AA talent. He's set for life. Really.

Yeah, his recruiting at Tennessee was not a strong suit. I don't know if the high talent just come to him now or if Miles makes him recruit, but it's working.

I despise ND, but with the Vatican finances behind them + their own network, they could pretty much pay whatever.

in answer to the OP I think Smith was the better higher over Fulmer. Like others have mentioned it would have taken Fulmer too long to catch up. On a permanent basis I would take Fulmer.

Arky hired another scumbag who bailed on his job one month in. You'll be a shite show for years to come simply by dancing with the adulterous devil, shitbird Petrino.

You arky fans have delusions of grandeur when it comes to your program. You have been decent for a total of TWO YEARS IN A ROW

LSU has had only one real decade of being on top. From 1960 to 2000, each had about the exact same amount of AP top 20/25 finishes. Lsu cracked the list 17 times, ark 20.

Until the 2000's, each had the same number of NCs.

the programs histories are very similar, until Saban turned LSU into what it still is right now.

Maybe we take a dip for a year or two soon, but with the money to pump into salaries and facilities, Petrino proved to other coaches that you can be a top 5/10 team at Arkansas.

I won't try to argue Ark is in the top 10 as far as prestige jobs, but it's definitely in there with the bottom half of 20. VaTech, Arizona, Arizona St., Ok St etc... we're gonna get a good coach, cause Long knows he'll be run out of town if he doesnt hit a home run.

Haven't read but I don't think Phil could jump all over anything other than a bucket of chicken.

Arkansas is going to get whoever they want. They can pay up to or more than Bama and LSU

Which is why they had to settle for John L. Smith for a year, right?

We 'settled' because there is great value in not having to install a new system in August. There's also great value in saving over $2.5 million compared to what you were paying your last coach. That's money that can go to a buyout, signing bonus, or long-term contract when we go shopping for our next coach.

You are retarded if you think we couldn't have afforded a more expensive coach than JLS, to whom we are paying only $850,000 for the season.

We had to settle for JLS because Petrino decided to hire his mistress, take her joy riding on a motorcycle, and then laid it down on a pretty manageable turn. Then he tried to cover it up and got his arse canned.

this was my first concern when Fulmer's name was brought up, although LSU would have made it a tough decision w/ the the money and talent he'd be leaving. Chief wouldn't have been as good at Ark as he is at LSU. Him leaving would have been a big blow to LSU though; he's a great fit w/ the talent LSU brings in

He would have definitely left.

Not so sure about that. LSU maybe but the only other university that can get in a bidding match with Bama is Texas.

And this my friends is why Saban is going to be the next head football coach at Texas.

I love how all the Tenner fans say Chavis would go to Ark with Fulmer in a heartbeat and the LSU fans say it would never happen.

There's not one single reason why Fulmer would have been the better choice for interim. The interim is basically going to stand on the sidelines, give pep talks, and manage the gameday. Fulmer coming in cold with no knowledge of players, staff or offense, vs a guy who was on staff, working with these players and coaches in December. Its really not much of a question. Fulmer is a name you are familiar with, but he's long-removed from the glory days at Tennessee.

You guys sure you don't want me?

Consider this my formal request for reconsideration from the :rivalry: committee.
