Georgia with backups playing will still win by 30

I hope Kirby goes all "TCU" and never takes the foot off the gas.

Is Golf Digest still giving out NC awards or was just a 2004 deal?

This is why you don't have a vote.

I don’t have a vote because I’m not part of the Associated Press.

This coming from a bammer who claims the 1941 title is quite rich though.

You’re confused by not realizing an AP title would very much be an official title. It’s the freaking AP.

Disagree. There is nothing official about a title bestowed by polling sports writers. There is also nothing offical about a committee hand picking teams to play for a title based on amorphous impressions.

Neither is any more legitimate than the other.

College football has never awarded a true, legitimate national champion. The sport is simply not designed to do so.

Change my mind.

It was never "official," it was just all we had before championships were played on the field.

We still don't award championships based on games played on the field. We are closer, but still not there as long as committees/polls/algorithms pick who gets to compete.

Set the rules. Set the path. Let the teams earn it every step of the way. Let Wins and Losses sort everything out. Wire to wire. There is no other way to award a legitimate chanpionship.

No, we have a system now. If you change the system to conference winners only, to end up letting some 9-3 ACC team in over a 11-1 team that got beat by the best team in the country by 1 point in the final seconds.

There will always be controversy, but we have a system that lets teams win it on the field.
