You can capitalize AND but it doesn’t change the fact that it is an asterisk/abbreviated season.

- No spring
- Cancelled games
- Players missing games due to positive tests
- Coaches missing games due to positive tests
- Away games basically nullified due to crowd cuts
- Half the country not playing
- Top players opting out

These things are undeniable

Undeniable, yes

Running a full conference schedule, undefeated, winning a CCG and the CFPs against all of those odds would definitely add to the degree of difficulty and make it the best season ever for a team that dominates the schedule along the way.

Put a BIG asterisk next to it for toughest odds ever to overcome toward a championship.

Mac isn’t nearly as good. Anyone that had watched both will agree.

That isn’t a good thing when the conference is the weakest it’s been in two decades.

2013 Fsu averaged more points than 2019 Lsu and this years Alabama team and had a better defense than both.

It can easily be stated that 2013 Fsu was better than both by facts in the numbers where they averaged more points than both.

Because of Covid and lack of Spring/Summer camps, defenses are so far behind offenses this "season". Just look at the sheer number of missed tackles for every team this year.

Just seems unfair to compare to normal seasons

Would be quite the opposite, as far as the rest of the country sees it.

Pretty much everyone, but the deluded.

This season means so little, it doesn't even cost eligibility.

I mean, great job to Clemsion for winning the CFP. . .but nobody is really going to count it as legit as a real season. This season has been a wreck for defenses across the nation (Bama included), because the limited preparation/scrimmaging.

I mean, you can even say it is fair, because every defense is fricked. . .but that is conceding the point rather than making one.

It was so ridiculous to claim 2019 LSU as the best team of all time. You could maybe claim that Burrow is one of the best qbs of all time, but even that is debatable.

AL.com - the #1 news outlet in your state - disagrees.

AL.com - Did Joe Burrow & LSU just have the greatest season in college football history?

Up until Monday night, my default position was that Cam Newton’s 2010 was the greatest individual season in college football history.

Up until Monday night, my default position was that either 1995 Nebraska or 2018 Clemson enjoyed the greatest team season in college football history.

On Tuesday morning, my default position is that both positions have changed.

Joe Burrow’s 2019 is the greatest individual season in college football season.

LSU’s 2019 is the greatest team season in college football history.

- eliminated cupcake non-P5/FCS opponents
- played a 10 game conf sched
- play a CCG
- still play a 2 game CFPs with all of CFBs major contenders still in consideration
- and all teams will have to navigate CV19 disturbances to schedule, prep, personnel, etc at some point

sounds much more difficult than the norm

This is true. But just like you said, he doesn’t need to as often - the OL is better in the Bama side.

So, overall, Bama this year and LSU last are similar both at WR and RB, however they are different at QB and OL.

I think how you finish has a lot to do with the perception. Auburn should have won the national title game. FSU’s only marquee win was at Clemson. I mean, they played Duke in the ACC title game.
