If Burden doesn't give up on the play, it would have been a TD. Go back and watch it. He half asses his route which keyed Starks to look to his right. It's at that moment he sees what is happening and is able to male it all the way across to make the tackle at the one yard line.
Thankfully, Burden is a prima donna and doesn't play when he knows he isn't getting the ball. If he sells his route for even a second, Starks never makes that tackle.
