First of all, the greatest part of road trips is witnessing the traditions of our fellow conference brothers and sisters. I love it. Being red blooded American patriots, this seems like something that I, as well as most other Tiger fans, will want to check out as we head to College Station.
Secondly, comparing anything to Arlington other than Arlington is straight ridiculous, I don't care what it is.
Finally, acosting visiting fans for walking through the grass in an area that they are probably ignorant to is a little overboard IMO.

More specifically the MSC houses all 7 Congressional Medals of Honor that Aggies have been awarded
This is a myth, the medals in the hall are reproductions and actually state that under the medal itself. The actual medals I believe are housed under lock and key with the corps.

Aggies are in denial about that dump they call a stadium.
Don't mistake in the pride of the game-day atmosphere Aggies have for Kyle Field with the actual condition of the stadium.
I wouldn't mind tearing the whole thing down and starting from scratch, except maybe the Zone. But there are a few probably 'older' Aggies who think it would be a crime to touch any part of the stadium.. even to restore it mildly sanitary conditions.

Serious question...how is the sacred grass cut? Do the lawn people walk on it?
Obviously it is maintained. Personally I don't even like the grass tradition because it is confusing. I would much rather them just stick to hats. In the end though it is something a lot of folks take very seriously and it isn't changing. Hopefully since there is no shortage of ways to make fun of Aggies or disrespect us this minor concession won't be too burdensome. Maybe you can hold up a Jizz Jar as the Corps marches in (though since that tradition only seems to exist on the Rant they won't know what you are doing).

What about the families of the medal winners? Would they also possibly not have the originals?

I might meet up, but meating up sounds like an Aggie activity I want to avoid.

I've never understood why they don't just rope off the grass during game weekends...

They did but they have all been donated to the university. The last one was donated sometime last year or maybe the year before I believe.

It was an analogy, not a comparison. And they really are the same thing--memorials to those who've made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. NOT saying the MSC grass is as prestigious as the National Cemetery by any stretch of the imagination, but the spirit of both memorials is the same.

I am going to get that story and send it to A&M's powers that be. This needs to be done here, all jokes aside.

Are those rules posted somewhere near the MSC so the LSU fans can see it? I would venture to say maybe 1% of the fanbase traveling probably reads this site.

There are signs everywhere.

As a retired US Marine and wounded combat veteran I have no problem honoring your request. However, there are going to be a bunch of 18-21 year old drunk Tiger fans running around your campus that have no idea about the honor and traditions associated with the MSC and unless you tape off the area an place a guard at the location you are probably gonna have a few folks accidentally stroll onto the grass and then if some cadet starts yelling at them I see a possibility for problems.
Also as an FYI the Medal of Honor is the United States of America's highest military honor, awarded for acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty. It is awarded by the President of the United States in the name of Congress and is sometimes referred to as the Congressional Medal of Honor, but the original and official title is the "Medal of Honor".

Yeah, we will see if more people get on board with my thesis lol.

FWIW, I knew my hard-headed friends had to be in the minority.

Well said.

I agree some Aggies take it too seriously but that isn't changing. On Gameday there are always going to be a LOT of Aggies that are veterans or families that lost loved ones in combat around the MSC though and if nothing else respecting the grass avoids an unnecessary altercation.
A&M does have a ridiculous amount of traditions so I certainly understand why opposing fans make fun of them. Just pointing out this one is kind of out of bounds. The only other one I would say is equally viewed is Bonfire (making Bonfire jokes around Aggies is about as smart as making Katrina jokes to an LSU fan, not comparing the tragedies but the emotions are the same).
I also realize that very few LSU fans come here but its just my way of trying to spread the word. I saw some really ugly instances when some LSU fans jumped up and down on the MSC grass when I was in school and I think it was from lack of knowledge. Just trying to share the word so that we can all hate each other in a friendly way.
Didn't realize the Medals in the MSC were copies though I must have walked by them 500 times, they look very real. Doesn't really change the point though.

I wouldn't worry about the cadets. They step off from the quad for march in at 0930. They won't be around the MSC before the game.

I apologize sincerely and profusely for storming the field and fratting hard with my boys (now all doctors , lawyers, engineers, dentists & assorted tax scofflaws) amongst your startled and shockingly- geeky band and cheerboys circa late 1980's. I was not yet a man and prone to Animal House behavior.
I feel shame.
I have MAD RESPEK for Aggie Tradition.
Good luck, can't wait to see J. Football.
