LSU from what I heard their announcer saying has a lot of young and new guys in the line-up like we do. I dare say that stuff the EKU pitcher was throwing that final out, not many batters were gonna get a bat on those pitches.

A) I’m not getting too hyped on Bama. They did this same shite last season and then sucked in sec play.
B) kudos to UNLV for putting this as a livestream on YouTube. Wish more teams would do this! It was a free and streamed flawlessly. Tip of the ole cap!

I know our own announcer legendary Jim Ellis is calling games on borrowed time and it won’t be the same when he hangs up the gloves. It felt that way listening to LSU without Jim Hawthorne. I love college baseball but the icons who have called so many Sec games are slowly drifting away.

Yep - we are definitely more talented, but the SEC is such a frickin beast that it's hard to get too excited until you see them prove they can compete on the weekend.
We do finally have some depth and some legitimate SEC caliber pitchers and pop in the lineup, though.

It happens as you/we all get older. Is what it is sadly.
Gotta find the right guys to be the future though. I don’t really like how most of sports has gone to ex players as announcers now. They’re borderline “special” and I’d prefer someone who is more eloquent.

We'll win more SEC games this year. For one our schedule is much easier - last year was absurd. For 2 it's just simply a much better team.
Anything less than 12-14 conference losses would be a big dissapointment (and that is a low bar but we've earned a low bar with the last 3-4 seasons).

We have had the honor of listening to Jim Ellis (Who could have left to call MLB) for decades. Like you said, he and the above you mentioned won’t ever be replaced.

I hope you’re right but I dunno, not getting too amped. I think I heard UNLV just dropped to 1-5 on the season. We’re beating bad teams so meh.
SEC play will drop us to reality. Then again, the sec generally has like 8 teams in the top 25 consistently.

We would have been middle of the pack last year in pretty much any other conference and could hardly muster up a win with our schedule. This team seems to be a few notches better than last year so far.
