This statement, right here, shows that you're the one who needs to watch more baseball. These guys are not robots. Even the best players have off nights. It's just part of the game.

I don't care what label he has. Statistically he trails Gaeckle in the most important stat in pitching. Not my fault.

ERA is less important than K to walk ratio and W/L ratio. You can have a low ERA with a bad defense and still give up a ton of runs.

You didn't say he'd be the 3rd best CLOSER on the A&M staff, you said best PITCHER.

You are seriously trying to claim he's a better pitcher than Prager.

I said he's statistically the 3rd best pitcher on A&M's staff. It's not my fault the numbers upset you.

And you only used ERA when comparing a closer to a starter.

Is this where we act like LSU fans and throw a shite fit that we had a call overturned against us?

The most important pitching stat in baseball.

Definitely know not to take notes from someone that thinks W/L is anything more than a TV stat. Pitchers have nothing to do with the run support they get.

I'd argue strikeout to walk is far more important for a closer because it determines the likelihood of a successful save via the number of batters faced.

Also, if a closer comes in with the bases loaded and gives up a triple, he allows 3 runs, but none earned...as an example.

Let me put it more simply for you so you can understand: Closers inherit baserunners very often, starters never inherit baserunners. If inherited runners score, it doesn't count against your ERA.

I'd expect a "baseball expert" to know this.
